Master Robert Thornton clerk, William Ryman esquire, William Ascu and William Hulle clerk to Elizabeth who was wife of John Appelton of Dertforde for life, with remainder to Master John Appelton clerk and Roger Appelton her sons and to the heirs of their bodies according to the common law, and if the said John die without issue what to him pertained to the said Roger and the heirs of his body, and if Roger die without issue what to him pertained to John and the heirs of his body, remainder to the heirs of Thomas Appelton by Alice his wife, remainder to Henry son of Richard Appelton son of the said Elizabeth and to the heirs of his body, remainder to William Appelton brother of Henry and to the heirs of his body, remainder to Agnes daughter of the said Elizabeth and late the wife of William Hesille and to the heirs of her body, remainder to the right heirs of the said Master John and Roger. Charter indented with warranty of their manor in Dertforde, a messuage called Joces, 190 acres of arable land, 36 acres of meadow, 50 acres of pasture and 20s. of rent in Dertforde, Wilmyngton, Darent, Sutton, Stone, Earde and Mepeham co. Kent, and all other lands, rents, services, reversions and fees in Kent which they had by feoffment of Thomas Appelton, son and heir of John Appelton of Dertforde; and power to the said Elizabeth to make waste therein without impeachment. Witnessss: William Rothele, John Boost, John Bate of Dertforde, Richard Letotte of Northflete, Thomas Clement of Earde, John Shelle of Bexhille, John Segode the younger of Erhithe.
