Gryffyn of the parish of St. Benet 'in Greschurche strete sadeler'
for John bishop of Scalholt in Island within the realm of Denmark,
to whom by letters patent of 22 November this year the king
gave licence to lade a ship of England with victuals and other
goods and property needful for himself, his men and household
when he should come to those parts, therewith to depart thither,
there to lade the ship again with other goods etc. to be brought
again to England to content certain creditors to whom the bishop
is indebted, and to send the same back again, that answer shall
be made to the king for customs, subsidies etc. to him due, and
that the bishop shall by himself or by others do or attempt
nought tending to breach of the statute published on behalf of
the king of Denmark in the parliament holden at Westminster in
