David Mortymer of Ardeley co. Essex 'gentilman' and Stephen Wolf of London 'fisshemonger' to Thomas Morton clerk. Recognisance for 40l., to be levied etc. in Essex and the city of London.
Condition, that they or one of them shall pay 10 marks at Easter next, 10 marks on Midsummer day following, 10 marks on Midsummer day following, and on three successive Midsummer days following.

Condition, that until three weeks after Easter next neither Joan countess of Westmerland, nor the said earl of Salisbury, George and Edward (sic), nor William Neville lord Faucomberge, nor any other by their procurement, order or instigation shall do any hurt to the said Ralph, John Nevile and Thomas Nevile knights, nor any officer, minister, servant or tenant of theirs, which may tend to breach of the peace, nor enter by force or contrary to the law upon any lands or possessions of Ralph late earl of Westmerland or of others enfeoffed with him or to his use by the said now earl, John and Thomas or by their feoffees or assigns, or occupied to their use, nor do aught whereby they, their feoffees or assigns shall be thrust out of possession thereof, or disturbed from taking at will the issues and profits of the same, unless it be by virtue of a judgment or process of law in favour of the said countess, earl of Salisbury, William, George and Edward or one of them rendered in some court of the king or other court; but proviso that it shall be lawful from time to time at their pleasure to make peaceable and lawful claim and entry, if any they have; that if any arbitrators shall be chosen, and shall before the date aforesaid make an award in writing between the parties touching the title and possession of the said lands, the said countess and the others shall observe and perform such award; and that the said earl of Salisbury, George and Edward shall at the day mentioned appear in person before the council, unless hindered by notable infirmity or other reasonable cause without fraud or covin.

William de Bulkeley to Thomas de Haydoke and his assigns. Confirmation for his life of the estate which he has in the manor of Burgate and hundred of Forde co. Suthampton for a term of 60 years by demise of the said William dated 16 June last, subject to a yearly rent of 20l. payable at London in the parish church of St. Andrew in Holborne, reserving power again to enter and hold the same in his first estate if the rent be three days in arrear; and proviso that as often as any sum of money during the life of the said Thomas shall be thereof levied by virtue of any yearly pension or rent thence issuing, or other charge by the said William made, the lessee and his assigns shall be discharged of so much at the next payment of the said rent, and that the said Thomas shall at his own cost do all that to him pertains for defence of the premises without fraud or covin. Order for urgent causes, by advice and assent of the council, upon sight etc. to cause proclamation to be made, that no liege subject of the king now over sea or accustomed to go thither shall until further order expose for sale or buy in any of the territories of Flanders, Brabant or Henaud any mercery or grocery of the produce or manufacture of those territories, namely linen cloth of whatsoever make or name, 'coverchiefs' howsoever called, madder, soap, woad or other sort of grocery, or 'haberdasshware' by whatsoever name, that none of them shall send or bring the same into the realm or into any part of the king's lands or dominions, or make any other attempt contrary to this proclamation, under pain of forfeiture of mercery, grocery or 'haberdasshware' so imported, and of making fine and ransom to the king. To the abbot and convent of Athelney Request to take again letters under their seal concerning a corrody or maintenance within that abbey which John Farnham has by command of the king, to admit to their house the said John and John Wykham the king's servant, one of the yeomen ushers of his hall, and minister to them such maintenance as John Farnham or any other person had therein, making them letters patent under the common seal of the house with mention of what they shall take, and writing again by the bearer what they will do; as John Farnham is minded to give up his letters to the end that the king should grant that corrody to him and John Wykham for their lives and the life of the longest liver, and for their good service the king has sent them thither. Vacated, for that on 1 January 18 Henry VI by writ of privy seal the king gave J. bishop of Bath the chancellor command to cancel the same, for that the said Owen did fulfil all therein contained, and the king gave him a pardon, as by the said pardon which is on the chancery file of 18 Henry VI it does appear.

Request to take again their letters patent concerning a corrody or maintenance within that abbey which Thomas Barton has at request or command of the late king, to admit the said Thomas and Robert Stevenson to their house and grant the same to them for their lives and the life of the longest liver, making them letters patent under the common seal of the house with mention of what they shall take, and writing again by the bearer what they will do; as Thomas Barton is minded to give up his letters to be cancelled, to the end that he and the said Robert may have that corrody, and the king has sent them thither.
