Westminster.
To the sheriff of Norffolk (and) Suffolk for the time being. Order to pay 12d. a day to Robert Shiryngton and Richard Merston and to the longest liver, and 6d. a day for their clerk; as the king has granted them the office of controller of all his works within the realm from Easter day last for their lives and the life of the longest liver, with such wages, fees etc. of the revenues, issues, profits etc. of the said counties as were allowed in the accounts of John Straunge late clerk of the works with the late king for wages of John Hartishorne late controller and of his clerk, namely 12d. a day for the controller and 6d. for the clerk. By p.s. [5884], and the date by authority of parliament.
