Westminster.
Joan who was wife of Simon Ralegh esquire to Thomas Whalesburgh and John Blewet esquires. Recognisance for 500 marks, to be levied etc. in Somerset.
Condition, that she shall abide and perform the award of Alexander Hody, the arbitrator chosen on her behalf and on behalf of the said Thomas and John and the feoffees of the said Simon of all his manors, lands, rents, services and reversions in Somerset, Dorset and Devon touching the right, possession and title thereof and all actions, plaints, demands etc. between the parties concerning the execution of his will, so that the award be made in writing under seal of the arbitrator before Allhallows next.

Charter of demise of all the lands, rents, services and reversions in Baketon and Colepyt co. Robert Chestan, son of John Chestan of Gippewich co. Suffolk, to John Chestan citizen and mercer of London the other son and heir of his said father, his heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of all the lands, rents and services in the town of Gippewich, within the liberties thereof or elsewhere in Suffolk which were of his said father. Dated 7 June 15 Henry VI.

Ralph prior of the church or house of Newark by Guldeforde co. Surrey and the convent to Thomas Canynges citizen and grocer of London, Elizabeth his wife and Margaret their daughter. Gift indented with warranty, for a sum of money beforehand paid to relief of the priory, of a yearly rent of 20l., for their lives and the life of the longest liver, to be taken of all their lands in the city and suburbs of London and payable in that city, and power to distrain for arrears in all their manors, lands etc. in Surrey, Sussex, Middlesex, Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire and elsewhere within the realm; covenant that they shall have further 40s. in name of a pain if the rent be six weeks in arrear, if a distress be rescued or replevied, or if by incitement or procurement of the grantors they be hindered from distraining or impleaded for a distress, and power to distrain for the same as aforesaid, and that the grantors shall not plead or allege any payment or acquittance dated elsewhere than in the said city, and all others shall be void; and they have put the grantees in possession by payment of 4d. Dated the chapter house, 11 July 19 Henry VI.
