Memorandum that on the last day of September 22 Henry VI
in chancery Robert Mouter keeper or clerk of the hanaper was
examined by the chancellor at the instance of the justices of
either Bench, the justices of assize, the serjeants at law and the
king's attorneys in his courts, according to an act or ordinance
made in parliament in 18 Henry VI for payment of the fees and
rewards of such justices, serjeants and attorneys and of certain
sums for furring and lining of the justices of either Bench and
yearly raiment of the said serjeants and attorneys, as to how
much was then in arrear to each of them, and whether the issues
of the hanaper were sufficient for payment of arrears and of the
sums due at the terms of payment specified in the act, over and
above all other payments and charges, and said that the following
sums were in arrear and unpaid: |
