Dec. 7.
Westminster.
Edmund Starky, Thomas Starky and Thomas Acton of Shrewsbury co. Salop 'gentilman' to William Mountfort knight. Recognisance for 26l. 6s. 4d., to be levied etc. in Warwickshire.
Condition, that the said Edmund and Thomas Starky shall both appear in person before the chancellor and treasurer of England in the octaves of St. Hilary next in a chamber by the exchequer called the 'Cheker chaumbre,' (fn. 1) and shall prosecute a writ of error for correction of an error upon the record and process and in the rendering of judgment of a cause before the treasurer and the barons between the said William and them for arrears wherein the plaintiff avers that they are bound to him for the time that they were receivers of his moneys, and further shall content him of 26l. 6s. 4d. wherein it is said they were before the barons condemned, or else render themselves to the king's prison of Flete, in case the judgment so rendered shall be affirmed.
Robert Helmham citizen and mercer of London to John Heydoun, Reynold Rous, William Roys 'gentilmen,' John Locke and John Lambarde citizens of London, their heirs, executors and assigns. Gift of all his goods, lands and chattels moveable and immovable, quick and dead in London, Norffolk and elsewhere within the realm and over sea, all debts particularly noted in a schedule hereto attached, and all due from other persons wheresoever. Witnesses: Roger Dowys, John Michell, William Hyne of Norffolk, William Gronde, Robert Bale of London. Dated Stothowe co. Norffolk, 26 May 1444, 22 Henry VI.
