John Say to Master William Say and Master Thomas Walkyngton. Recognisance for 400 marks, to be levied etc. in Norffolk and Cambridgeshire.

To the abbot and convent of Evesham. Request to take again any letters patent of theirs to John Brownyng the king's serjeant, who by grant of the king has for life a corrody or maintenance in that abbey under their seal, to admit him and Walter Hale the king's esquire to their house, and minister to them such maintenance as the said John or any other person had therein, making them letters patent under the common seal of the house with mention of what they shall receive, and writing again by the bearer what they will do; as the said John is minded to give up the said letters to them to the end that the king might grant the same to him and Walter Hale, in consideration whereof, and of the good service of the said John and Walter, the king has sent them both thither.
William Cleyne (sic), son of John Cheyne and of Isabel late his wife, to Robert de Heworth and Robert Marshall, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of the manors of Bokyngham and Bourton co. Bukingham, with lands, rents and services, woods, mills, ways, paths, ditches, fisheries, suits of court, wards, marriages, reliefs, escheats, liberties etc. thereto belonging; and because his seal is to many unknown he has procured the seal of William Wetenhale one of the aldermen of London to be hereto attached. Dated 5 January 24 Henry VI.

Thomas Ovedale of the county of Suthampton esquire to Thomas Maunsell of Yorkshire esquire. Recognisance for 500l., to be levied etc. in the county of Suthampton.
Condition, that he shall abide and perform the award of John archbishop of Canterbury the chancellor, Edmund marquess and earl of Dorset and John Fortescu knight chief justice appointed to hold pleas before the king, the arbitrators chosen on behalf of the parties, touching all actions, plaints, matters and demands between them to this date, so that the award be made before the feast of St. Martin in winter next.
