Westminster.
Edmund duke of Somerset to Richard duke of York. Recognisance for 20,000l., to be levied etc. in Surrey.
Condition, that he shall abide the award of William bishop of Winchester, Thomas bishop of Ely, Reynold bishop of Hereford, Humphrey duke of Bukyngham, Richard earl of Salisbury, John earl of Shrewsbury, John viscount Beaumont, Henry viscount Bourghchier and Robert Botell prior of St. John of Jerusalem in England or five of them touching all actions, causes, plaints and debates of one duke against the other, and before Tuesday next shall minister to the arbitrators in writing all that he will against the duke of York which concerns not principally the estate of the king and realm; that if rendered before Thursday following he shall perform the said award, otherwise he shall abide and perform the award of the king, so that it be rendered before Midsummer day next.
Thomas Lee of Kyngeston upon Thames co. Surrey 'haberdassher' to Richard earl of Warrewyk, Thomas Kirkeby clerk of the rolls, Thomas Chaumbre and William Skern, their executors and assigns. Gift of all his goods, debts and chattels within the realm or elsewhere. Dated 14 March 30 Henry VI.

Robert Iver, William Appilby, Roger Broun, each of Hermondesworth co. Middlesex 'husbondman,' Roger Pump 'husbondman' and John Robert 'miller,' both of Langford co. Middlesex, to Thomas Chaundeler warden of the college of St. Mary by Winchester. Recognisance for 20l., to be levied etc. in Middlesex.
Condition, that they shall abide and perform the award of John cardinal archbishop of York and chancellor and William bishop of Winchester, arbitrators indifferently chosen, concerning all services, works, customs and demands against them made by the warden for their lands at Hermondesworth, so that it be rendered before a month after Easter next, and until then shall keep the peace toward the warden, his servants, officers, counsellors and persons learned in the law.
Nicholas Sybyle to Edward Bothe, who by demise of master Lawrence Bothe, Robert Bothe and John Bothe is seised to him and the heirs of his body of lands, rents and services in the parishes of Bromley, Bekyngham, Cheselhurst, Motyngham and Eltham which were of John Sybile grandfather of Margaret his mother, with remainder to Randal Bothe and the heirs of his body, remainder to the heirs of the bodies of Ralph Bothe and Margaret his wife, parents of the said Edward and Randal, remainder to the right heirs of the said Margaret, also to the said Randal, and to the heirs of the bodies of the said Ralph and Margaret. Confirmation of their respective estates in the premises. Dated 7 February 30 Henry VI.

John Skryven citizen and 'hurer' of London to John Lemyng brewer and Philip Selly tailor citizens of London, their executors and assigns. Gift of all his goods, property and chattels in London and elsewhere within the realm, and all debts to him due; and he has put them in possession thereof by delivery of 2d. Dated 3 April 25 Henry VI.

Henry Smart to John Bolt chaplain. Indenture of grant for life of a yearly rent of 6 marks issuing from all the lands etc. in the city of Winchester which the grantor had by gift of the said John and others; and proviso that this rent shall not be paid during the life of Ellen mother of the said John. Dated 12 February 30 Henry VI.

John Bolt chaplain, son and heir of Richard Bolt and one of his executors, to Henry Smart, his heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of all lands etc. contained in a fine levied at Westminster one month after Michaelmas 30 Henry VI by the said John and others to the said Henry, Ellen his wife and the heirs of the said Henry, by name of eighteen messuages, a toft, 5 acres of land, and 1½ acre of meadow in the city of Winchester and town of Oterborne co. Suthampton, reciting that as executor he has received of Henry Smart for divers lands sold to him in the said city, the soke thereof and in Oterborne a sum of money to spend for his said father's soul, that his father by will demised the premises according to the custom of that city to several persons, some with remainder to the heirs of their bodies and some for life, ordering that for lack of heirs the same should be sold by his executors to spend for his soul, that all the persons on whom they were entailed are dead without issue, and that by virtue of the said fine the said Henry and Ellen are thereof seised; also of a fulling mill in the said city. Dated 9 February 30 Henry VI.
