Indenture of lease of the said rectories and prebend, and of all lands, fruits, proventions and profits thereof from this date to 1 September, 1456, rendering 5s. at the end of that term. William Strode, son and heir of Richard Strode esquire and husband of Alice daughter and heir of Roger Ledrede esquire, to William Combe and Thomas Cifrewast, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of all the lands, meadows, pastures and commons of pasture in Wethirgrave by Sandforde Orskoys co. Somerset, which were of the said Roger, and all other lands etc. there of William Kayleway and Joan his wife, all which William Kayleway by writing in his own name and in name of the said Joan gave to the said William Combe and Thomas, their heirs and assigns, who were and are thereof seised. Witnesses: Thomas Knoyell esquire, Robert Peytevyn, Richard Marchall, John Palmer, William Peytevyn. Dated 2 September, 33 Henry VI.
William Strode, son and heir of Richard Strode esquire, to John Kayleway, his heirs and assigns. Quitclaim of the manor of Middilsowey co. Somerset, and of all lands, rents, reversions and services of the said Richard there and in Weston by Middilsowey, which by writing dated 10 October, 25 Henry VI the said Richard, in his own name and in name of Margaret his wife, gave without condition to the said John and William Combe and to the heirs and assigns of the said John, and by writing indented, dated 12 October, 25 Henry VI, John Kayleway demised to the said Richard and Margaret for her life, the said Richard being dead, and the said Margaret thereof seised as of freehold with remainder to John Kayleway and to his heirs; and proviso for defeasance of this quitclaim if William Strode and Alice his wife, within half a year after she shall reach the full age of one and twenty, shall make John Kayleway and his heirs secure in law in all lands etc. of Roger Ledrede esquire in Wethirgrave by Sanforde Orskoys, and all lands etc. there of William Kayleway and Joan his wife, as by counsel of John Kayleway or his heirs shall be appointed.
