William Power of Mychelmerlough 'gentilman' and John, Gruffyth of Horsyndon 'gentilman,' both co. Bukingham, to the king. Recognisance for 400l., to be levied etc. in Bukinghamshire.
Condition, that whereas by letters patent of 23 October, 36 Henry VI, for particular causes specially moving him and the council, the king with advice and assent of the council granted to the said John, that he, his deputies, factors or attorneys native or alien should once or divers times at their pleasure ship in one or more galleys, carracks, ships or vessels in the port of London 400 sacks of wool, parcel of 2,000 sacks by like advice and assent appointed there to be shipped in the king's name to his use for expenses of his household, and carry the same beyond the mountains or through the straits of Marrok, reckoning and answering to the king at the rate of 4 marks only a sack, and might keep the 4 marks in the said John's own hands to the use aforesaid, the whole of such wool shall be carried thither, and within one year after shipment letters testimonial under seal of the city of Cumae shall be brought into chancery witnessing that the same was taken to that city.
