Thomas Chawecy late of Newebury co. Berkshire 'gentilman,' to William Ludlowe 'gentilman.' Recognisance for 300l., to be levied etc. in Berkshire.
John Horne citizen and 'iremonger' of London, to Robert Clerke brewer and Robert Pope 'iremonger' citizens of London, their executors and assigns. Gift of all his goods, property, debts and chattels within the realm and elsewhere. Dated 12 February, 5 Edward IV.

William Soole of Reydon co. Suffolk 'gentilman,' to John Kynge citizen and grocer of London, William Penne rector of Reydon and Robert Soole brother of the grantor, their executors and assigns. Memorandum of the intent of a bond in 2,000 marks bearing date 23 February, 5 Edward IV, wherein Richard earl of Warwick and Salisbury, Henry earl of Essex, Antony Wydevyle knyght lord Scales, William Hastinges knyght lord Hastinges, John Wenlock knight lord Wenlock and Walter Blount knight lord Mountjoy be bound to Thomas Mountgomerey knight, Henry Belknap squire and Cristofer Huet squire, that whereas the said earls and lords have delivered to them their surety, writing and seals for payment of 8,000 skutys to Joachym Rouvant Frenchman due to him for part of the fenaunce of John Norbury squire now prisoner in France under the keping of the seid Joachym, if he be delivered out of prison the said sureties etc. shall be delivered again to the said earls and lords, and if not, then if the said earls and lords, their heirs or executors pay to Thomas Mountgomerey etc., their executors or assigns in the cathedral church of Saint Paule of London 2,000 marks, that is to say 666 marks 8s. 2½d. and the third part of a half-penny within six monethes after notice in England that he is not delivered, a like sum within six monethes following, and a like sum residue of the 2,000 marks within six moneths ensuing, the obligation shall also be delivered unto them. Charter with warranty of the brewhouse or inn called the 'Whitebere' in 'Aldrychegatestrete' in the parish of St. Botolph in the suburb of London, and all lands thereto adjacent, which the grantor had by demise of John Stuward and John Bracy citizens and chandlers of London to him, his heirs and assigns by charter dated London, 31 December, 5 Edward IV, and they had by gift of the said William Rauf being son and heir of John Rauf citizen and chandler of London deceased, by charter dated London, 6 February, 39 Henry VI, Ralph Verney being now mayor of London, Henry Waver and William Constantyne sheriffs, and Matthew Philip alderman of 'Aldrychegate' ward. Witnesses: Richard Malyngton esquire, Nicholas Lathell, James Bradman, Simon Joce 'gentilmen,' Thomas Wymark, Robert Walpole, Richard Elmesley. Dated London, 4 January, 5 Edward IV.
Nicholas Balegh and William Rauf. Indenture of defeasance of the foregoing charter, upon condition that William Rauf, his heirs, executors or assigns shall pay 50l., namely 10l. on Whitsunday, 1467, 10l. on Whitsunday following, 10l. on Whitsunday following, 10l. on Whitsunday following and 10l. on Whitsunday following, and shall repair and maintain the said brewhouse or inn etc. at their own cost until all be paid, and that then it shall be lawful for them again to enter and hold the premises in their first estate. Gift with warranty of all his goods and chattels in London and elsewhere within the realm, in debts and other property; and by delivery hereof he has put them in possession of the same. Henry Waver knight, Thomas Wenslowe 'draper' and William Chattok 'fysshmonger,' both of London, to Master Robert Kirkeham clerk, keeper of the chancery rolls, his executors and assigns. Indenture of lease with warranty from Michaelmas last for twenty years of one acre and half a rood of arable land in Chelchehithe co. Middlesex, in length between his wall on the south and land of John Yonge on the north, and in breadth between land of the lessors on the east and of John Drayton on the west, rendering yearly 3s. 4d., power being reserved to distrain for arrears in a messuage of the lessee in the said town. Dated 12 February, 5 Edward IV.

Gervase Clyfton knight and Maud his wife, late the wife of Robert lord Wilughby, to Anthony Widevyle lord Scales and lord of Newsels and his assigns. Gift with warranty during the life of the said Maud of the manors of Candelisby, Halom, Lamley, Snawdon, Boston, Bleseby, Gyppesmere, Goureton, Drainsfeld, Baseford, Quynton, Rasyn, Lutton, Belcheford and Tuxfford with Deynecourt's rent there etc. cos. Lincoln, Nottingham, Derby and Warwick, and the manor of Tumby co. Lincoln except a great wood called 'Tumby wodes' otherwise 'Tumby chace,' all late of Ralph lord Cromwell or of another to his use at his death, with advowsons of churches, chapels and chantries thereto pertaining, and all other lands, rents, reversions and services there wherein the grantors or others to their use or to the use of the said Ralph had any estate or interest; and request that all feoffees shall make the said Anthony an estate thereof during the life of the said Maud, with the exception aforesaid. Dated 24 November, 5 Edward IV.
Gervase Clyfton knight, to Anthony Widevyle knight lord Scales and lord of Newcelles. Bond in 1,000l. payable on the feast of the Purification next. Dated (as the last).
Condition, that if the manors etc. above mentioned, except a wood of Tumby called the 'Chace,' which the said Gervase and Maud his wife have given during her life to the said Anthony and his assigns, be before the Purification next found by two auditors by the parties appointed not to amount to the yearly value of 400 marks over and above charges and reprises, the said Gervase and Maud shall within one month likewise give other manors and lands to the amount lacking, and meantime shall suffer the said Anthony and his assigns without let to take all issues and profits of those already granted.
Gervase Clyfton knight, to the king. Bond in 5,000l. payable on Easter day next. Dated 20 November, 5 Edward IV.
Condition, that he and Maud his wife shall observe and fulfil all things contained in a charter of divers manors and lands by them made to the said Anthony, and in a bond by him given to the said Anthony, both dated 24 November, 5 Edward IV, and in the keeping of John earl of Worcester by assent of the said Gervase and Maud.
