Henry Bourgchier, earl of Essex, and John Howard of Howard, knight, to the king. Bond in 2000l. each, payable at Easter next, or levied etc. in London.
Thomas Bourgchier, knight, and James Arblaster esquire, to the king. Bond in 2000l. each, payable at Easter etc. (as above).
Condition, that if the aforesaid countess appear personally daily before the king in Council at Easter next, wherever he may be, and within three days after due warning given to her by the king, to answer certain matters pending against her, until she be dismissed from the council, this recognisance shall be voided etc.
King Edward etc., to Richard Lamport, clerk of the Council. Wishing to be informed if Elizabeth countess of Oxford personally appeared before us and our council at Easter last, and in nowise failed in her appearance to which she was bound, and if the said countess was dismissed from this council or not, we bid you inform us openly in chancery together with this writ, that we may be enabled to proceed further touching the recognisances of the said countess, Henry Bourgchier earl of Essex, John Howard knight and James Arblaster esquire, taken before us in our chancery as should be done. Reply of this writ that Elizabeth countess of Oxford personally appeared before the Council at Easter last past and nowise failed in her appearance, and was dismissed therefrom on the 9th day of July. Written at Westminster, 14 July. By Richard Lamport clerk of the king's Council. Schedule, dorse.

March 29. Henry Bodrugan, esquire and John Davy, merchant of Bodnek co. Cornwall, to Roderigo de Gotines and John Sebol, merchants of Spain. Bond in 60l. payable on 27 May next.
This indenture witnesseth, that whereas Henry Bodrugan and John Davy of Bodnek, by their written obligation be bound to Roderigo de Gotines and John Sebol in lxs. sterling payable as above, as in the same obligation more plainly is contained, nevertheless the same Roderigo and John grant that if the foresaid Henry and John Davy the 27 of May next without fraud deliver in the city of London to the said merchants or to one of them, as much quantity of ware and merchandise, good and merchantable as shall be worth for ready money between merchant and merchant at day of deliverance of the same, 35l. sterling, after the discretion and judgement of two merchants thereupon indifferently to be chosen by my lord chancellor, or else by the master of the rolls, their said judgement to be given at this tide, or else if any default be made of or in deliverance of the said wares etc. contrary to the form aforesaid, that then the said Henry and John Davy grant that this obligation in full strength abide and be executory in the law, this indenture notwithstanding. Sept. 4. Richard Lowe, esquire, to Laurence Bothe, bishop of Durham, and William Langton, clerk. Quit claim of all personal actions that he may have against them to this date.
This indenture made between the reverend father Laurence Bothe, bishop of Durham, and William Langton, clerk, on the one part, and Richard Lowe, esquire, on the other part, witnesseth, that the said Richard hath delivered and let to farm to the aforesaid bishop and William the manor or lordship of Milton otherwise Middelton with appurtenances in Cambridgeshire, to hold unto the feast of St. Michael next coming, and eight days after, yielding therefore to the said Richard and his executors 1d. only, at the said feast to be paid: and over this it is agreed between the parties that neither the bishop nor William Langton, nor other servant of the said bishop shall hereafterward be impeached, impleaded, vexed or troubled for any occupation or meddling in the lordship aforesaid before this time; and that the bishop shall peaceably take and enjoy the issues and profits of the foresaid lordship during the term aforesaid, without any interruption or letting of Richard or any other to his use. In witness thereof to these indentures either party interchangeably have set their seals. Given 4 September, 13 Edward IV. English.

Will of Thomas Fairfax esquire, enjoining his feoffees after his decease, to make estate to his wife Elizabeth daughter of Robert Shirborne from whom he received 500 marks, according to covenant, of the manors of Walton, Folyfait, Acastermalbys, Coupmanthorpe and Scalton, with all messuages, lands and tenements, mills, meadows, woods etc. therein, and in Thorparche, Ryppon and York city in the county of York without impeachment of waste, for term of her life with remainder to the heirs male of his body, and in default thereof, to his right heirs, and his feoffees Robert Shirborne, Sir John Malvery etc. (as above) shall fulfill the said will, suffering him to take the issues and profits of his estate during his life: and he will do naught to the prejudice or hurt of the same.
