William Stonore knight, to Peter Marmyon the elder. Bond in 500l., payable at Easter next, or levied of his lands and chattels in Oxfordshire.
Condition, that if the said William, before the Annunciation next, cause the abbot and convent of a religious house under their seal to grant to Peter Marmyon an annuity of 20l. a year for his life payable at the Annunciation of Our Lady and Michaelmas, with a clause of distress for nonpayment by the space of five weeks after due, to be taken from lands of the said abbot, whereof the abbot shall be seised in right of his house at the time of the grant: and also, if the said William being seised of manors etc. in his demesne as of fee to the yearly value of 20l. by his deed before the said date, grant out of the same unto Robert son and heir of Peter Marmyon, for term of his life an annuity of 100s. at the said feasts with a clause of distress if it be unpaid after six weeks; and also if the said William being so seised before the Annunciation next, grant by deed to Eleanor wife of Peter Marmyon an annuity of five marks for her life, to John Marmyon, another son of Peter an annuity of 40s.: to Peter Marmyon, another son an annuity of 40s.: all to proceed out of the said manors to the yearly value of 20 marks, as payable after the death of Peter Marmyon the father, the first payment to be made at the Annunciation or Michaelmas whichever shall first fall after his death, with a clause of distress for nonpayment after 6 weeks: and likewise the said William grants to Eleanor, John and Peter Marmyon the younger, with a proviso in every deed that if the manor of Beamys and the manors of Shenyngfeld, Swalowefeld, Farley, Didenham, Troukewell, Foxhill and Sheperigge cos. Berks and Wilts, or Nustelynge manor co. Southampton, which were of the said Peter by recovery, entry or otherwise, devytt from the possession of Sir William Stonore or his heirs by reason of any title before the date of this recognisance, then the same shall be voided or else stand in strength and virtue.

Indenture of defeasance between John Manyngham knight and Thomas Martyn, tailor of London, on the one part, and John son of Robert Whityngham knight on the other part: Witnesses that John Whityngham granted and demised at farm with warranty to the said John and Thomas all his lands and tenements in Weston Turvile co. Buckingham, formerly of Robert Whityng ham esquire, to be held by the above John Manyngham and Thomas Martyn from the feast of the Annunciation, 21 Edward IV, to the end of two years completed, rendering in full satisfaction of rent a red rose annually at the Nativity of St. John Baptist. Whereunto they have put their seals. English.

John Whityngham and Richard son of Robert Whityngham knight, to John Manyngham and Thomas Martyn, their heirs and assigns. Release and quitclaim of the above lands etc. in Weston Turvile by virtue of an indenture dated the Annunciation, 21 Edward IV, whereby John Whityngham demised all the above premises to the aforesaid persons for the rent of a rose, when demanded. April 2. Indenture between John Manyngham and Thomas Martyn on the one part, and John son of Robert Whityngham on the other, witnesses that where John Whityngham has let to farm the lands he held in Weston Turvyle, late of Robert his father, to John and Thomas for two years at the rent of a red rose; and afterwards John Whityngham and Richard his brother, by writ of release, quitclaimed to John Manyngham and Thomas Martyn all their rights in the said lands, by date of 1 April, 20 Edward IV, enrolled in chancery: and where John Manyngham and John Whityngham by two bonds of the staple of Westminster dated 30 March, 21 Edward IV, are bound to John Warde, alderman of London, in 100l.: it is agreed between them that if John Whityngham etc. discharge and save harmless John Manyngham against John Warde for the said 100l., that the latter and Thomas Martyn shall enfeoff the said John Whityngham in all the above lands in Weston Turvyle, to hold for ever: and shall deliver to him a deed tripartite concerning the premises, and the former release to them, after 1 April, 1483, and shall deliver such deeds and evidences as and when reasonably required. And over this John Manyngham and Thomas shall suffer John Whityngham, his heirs or assigns to take, levy or receive the issues and profits growing out of the said lands: and if John Manyngham before 1 April be clearly discharged against John Warde, and the bonds be delivered to him to be cancelled, then John Manyngham and Thomas shall make estate of the lands and deliver the said evidences to John Whityngham, provided that it is agreed that if John Manyngham and his heirs be not discharged by John Whityngham against John Warde, then it shall be lawful for him and Thomas Martyn to enjoy the said lands and retain all writings concerning the same without claim or challenge of John or Richard Whityngham and their heirs. Nov. 18. Memorandum of the delivery for execution on 19 November, 21 Edward IV, of a writ to Christopher Hanyngton, attorney of the sheriff of Wilts, directing the sheriff to value the goods and lands of John Thacheham, gentleman of Idmoston co. Wilts, whereby a debt of 100l. to John Romesey, esquire of Bycketon co. Southampton, attested on 8 March, 15 Edward IV, before Robert Bagworth then mayor of Southampton, appointed for the admission of debtors in that staple, might be satisfied: since the aforesaid debt was unpaid at the time appointed, and the king by writ ordered William Colynborne then sheriff of Wilts, to arrest the said John Thacheham if he be layman and detain him in prison till the debt should be discharged, to which the sheriff replied that the said John was already deceased. Order to inform the king of the manner in which this writ has been executed.
