Martis, 20o Januarii

Bribery.

L. 1. AN Act against the Procuring of judicial Places for Money, or other Reward, and against giving and taking of Bribes.

Committee of Privileges.

The former Committee, for Privileges, read, and agreed to stand: To meet every Tuesday, during this Session, in the Star-chamber: To have Authority to send for any Persons, or Records ; and to hear Counsel.

Warrant for issuing Writs.

A general Warrant to Mr. Speaker, upon Deaths, to make Warrants for new Elections, without Motion; in other Cases, upon Motion.

Yorkeshyre.

A Warrant, for a Writ, for a new Knight for Yorkeshyre.

Election Petitions.

All Petitions, about new Elections, to be put in with-in Fourteen Days after the Return.

Religion.

A general Committee for Religion, of the whole House, to meet every Monday and Saturday in the Afternoon, in the House.

Courts of Justice.

A general Committee of the whole House, for Courts of Justice, to meet every Tuesday, in the House, in the Afternoon.

Grievances.

The like Committee for Grievances, upon every Wednesday and Friday in the Afternoon, in the House.

Trade.

The like Committee for Trade, upon every Thursday in the Afternoon. And every of these Committees have Power to send for [any] Persons, Records, Witnesses, &c. and to hear Counsel.

Bills of last Sessions.

Every Member of the House, that hath in his Hands any Bill of the last Session, by Saturday next to deliver them to the Clerk ; and the Clerk to tender a Catalogue of them to the House upon Monday next.

Publick Bills.

Ordered, That, upon the Committing of every publick [Bill,] One of the Committee shall be specially named by [the] House, to take Care of the Bill.

Nominating Committees.

Motion made, to think of some Course for nominating of Committees, to avoid the Confusion, which now is in nominating them.

This referred to the Consideration of the Committee for Privileges.

Warwick Writ.

The Order for Warwicke revived, with Alteration of the Words, " Two other;" and a Warrant to issue under Mr. Speaker's Hand, for a new Election.

Member elected Mayor.

Motion made, that Mr. Lynn, being chosen Mayor of Exeter, might be discharged, and a new chosen: But ruled, that, being a Member of the House before he was elected Mayor, he ought to serve here ; and he is to be sent for, to attend the Service of this House, if he come not shortly.

Members going out.

Ordered, Mr. Speaker first to go out of the House, at the Rising, and then the House to follow.
