Oxford, abutting on the Charwell to the east, 'Robertes Mede furlong' to the west, 'Chacombe mede' to the south and a meadow of the prior of Chacombe to the north; a meadow called 'Godenam' abutting on the Charwell to the east, 'Thacham mede' to the north and the bishop of Lincoln's meadow called 'Pursehille' to the south and west; 4½ a. pasture in the new close of Hardewyke, of which 1 a. lies on Middelfurlong and abuts on the king's highway to the west, ½ a. lies on Higheslade furlong and abuts on the said prior's land, 1 a. lies on Stancyall furlong and abuts on the bishop's land at either end, 1 a. lies in Flexland furlong and abuts on the bishop's land, and 1 a. lies in Thacham furlong and abuts on Thacham mede to the east; and a meadow in Grymesbury in the hamlet of Huskote co. Northampton, abutting on the Charwell to the north, on Grymesbury lordship to the south and west and on Huskote to the east; which lands were recovered by them against him in Michaelmas term, 18 Henry VII. Indenture between the king and Sir Thomas Darey knight, captain of his town of Berwyk: whereas by his patent (fn. 1) of appointment to the receivership of the lands etc. assigned to the payment of officers and soldiers at Berwik Sir Thomas ought to have received at Michaelmas last from his predecessor Sir Richard Cholmoley knight and his deputies 428l. 19s. 5¾d., being the whole farms then due for the payment of half a year's wages, whereof he received 168l. 3s. 4d., and whereas the king has remitted to him debts of 84l. for 4 years' farm of Goldale Garth, parcel of the duchy of Lancaster, and 81l. for 3 years' fee farm of Basyngstoke and Andevoure and delivered in ready money out of his coffers 95l. 16s. 1¾d. in full payment of the balance, he binds himself to pay the said officers, soldiers and others before 16 July next the wages and fees due to them at 14 Feb. last, and before St. Andrew's day next the amount due at 16 Aug. next, and to account before Easter next by sufficient deputy or deputies before John Clerke or such other auditors as the king shall appoint for the said 428l. 19s. 5¾d. and for the receipts from the said lands etc. for the year ending Michaelmas next; whereupon he shall pay the king the 428l. 19s. 5¾d. then due together with such other sums as shall be found due on his account over and above the wages and fees paid by him, and shall afterwards retain only the 428l. 19s. 5¾d. payable in advance towards the first half year's wages and fees; and so from year to year as long as he shall be receiver, so that on the final determination of his account he shall nothing have nor retain in his hands. The same, to Sir Reynold Bray. Indenture witnessing sale for 100l. (of which he acknowledges receipt) of the said manor and lands in Iseldon co. Middlesex; the present feoffees, viz. Sir Reynold, Richard Emson esquire, and Nicholas Mattok and William Copynger fishmongers, Alfred Rauson mercer and James Swetman fishmonger, all four of London, to stand seised to Reynold's use; premises to be assured as advised, and discharged of all rents etc. before Michaelmas next except 5 m. granted by lord Berners to Sir Thomas Bryan knight for life. April 8. Recognizance to the king by Thomas Bawde knight and John Fortescue and Thomas Elryngton esquires, for 1,000 m. Condition (English): Sir Thomas to pay 500l. 8s. 7d. owed to the king by the late Sir John Fortescue knight, chief butler of England, by reason of his office before the 'utas' of St. John Baptist next or else to yield his body to the Flete prison.

Indenture between the king and the mayor and fellowship of merchants of the staple of Caleis: bond for payment of their debt of 13,435l. 16s. 8¾d. for surplusage of customs, subsidies and duties in three instalments before Christmas 1504 and of any debts then outstanding before St. John Baptist 1505; in the two years next from 6 April last they shall ship from England to Calais so much wool and woolfells, being staple ware, truly customed in England, that the custom and subsidy thereof due to the king shall amount to a clear 8,000 m. over and above all assignments, duties and charges, ordinary and extraordinary and shall truly pay therefor 4,000 m. on 6 April, 1505, and 4,000 m. on 6 April, 1506, together with any further sums that may be due if shipments exceed this value; on payment of the 13,435l. 16s. 8¾d. all bonds hitherto made therefor shall be void and discharge shall be given in the Exchequer; bond for performance in 1,000 m. Sealed with the common seal of the mayor and fellowship and the Privy Seal and sign manual, 28 June, 18 Henry VII. English.

Indenture between the king and William Blount lord Mountyoye: the king to grant the keeping of Hampnes castle at pleasure to Mountjoye, who will keep it safely and surely to his use, deliver it when required by writing under the Great or Privy Seal, appear personally before him and his Council upon reasonable warning under any of his said seals, truly keep his allegiance during his occupation of the office, find sureties for 10,000 m. (replacing any who may die) and bind himself in other 10,000 m.; Mountjoye to have the customary fees etc. of the office and also the farm of Hamsewell, paying to the treasurer of Calais such rents as were paid by Sir John Turbervile; to keep such soldiers within the castle for its safeguard as he will answer to the king at his peril; to permit the said treasurer to receive yearly towards the repair of the castle the equivalent of 200l. sterling 'to be recomped and deducted out of the said wages and fees ordinaries to the said office appertaining,' being bound in 1,000l. for the performance of this article only; to take delivery of all 'ordynaunce, artelery and ablementis of warre' now in the castle and afterwards redeliver them to his successor, subject to 'resonable and lawefull use of weryng of them by mean of warre'; and forasmuch as the castle is very ruinous and greatly decayed, so that it is necessary to have it briefly and hastily better and more sufficiently repaired and fortified, which shall be much chargeable to the king's highness, he is to pay a fine of 500 m. and besides that to give the king 300 m. towards the building of such works as Sir John Turbervile lately began, whereof 100 m. have been delivered at the sealing of these indentures to John Heron to the king's use, while for the remaining 700 m. Mountjoye and Sir Thomas Greisley and Sir John Mountgomerey knights shall be bound in seven recognizances for 100l. each, provided that, if Mountjoye is discharged of this office before any day of payment, they shall be discharged of any sums thereafter demandable; provided also that, if the king send a 'crue' to Caleis by occasion of war, such persons as he shall send to the castle of Hampnes shall abide there at his costs and charges. Condition (English): personal appearance when required, before the chancellor of the university (or his commissary or the eldest doctor of divinity then occupying his room and authority) and the congregation or convocation of the same, of the aforesaid principals and the following late scholars: John Gely, Thomas Tope and (fn. 2) Stone the elder, late of London college; Aleph Mogreg, John Elton, William Nethercot, John Ryse, Anthony Colman, William Hody, Maudet and Andreo, late of Hynxehall; Sir W . . . 'The condicion of this recognisaunce is suche that if thesaid John and George and ethair of theym at any tyme or tymes when thay by the Chaunceller or Commissarie of the Universite of Oxford shalbe duely warned and commaunded with thair harnesse and salet over thair harnes and thair wepyns in thair handis and bare heded without any bonet goo from the place where they at that tyme shalbe resiaunt and abydyng in the said universite unto Carfox and soo goo aboutis thesame and from thens in the same maner wise goo to the Convocacion assembled in the place accustumed with in thesaid Universite then and thair submittyng them self to thesaid Chaunceller or Commissarie and stande to abyde obey and performe such correccion and punyshement for a Riot lately doon in thesaid Universitie as the said Chaunceller and Commissarie shall enyone or commaunde them and etheir of theym to doo in that behalf that then this recognisaunce to be voide and els to be of full vertue and strenght.'
