Will of Christian Brewer, requiring her feoffees, William Hampton, Robert Goodwyn, Robert Fitzherbert, Richard Somer, William Halmer and Hugh Brewer to make estate of her lands and tenements in the parish of St. Clement Danes,' London, to her and Roger Hippes for term of their lives: to punish the said Roger if he waste the same: and after their deaths to grant an annual rent of 26s. 8d. to six discreet men of the craft of pouchmakers in London, with clause of distraint: who are to keep the said premises in good repair and make account to the Wardens of the Guild, of the receipt of the rents; and the Wardens are to keep a yearly obit after All Hallows in the church of the Austin Friars with a trental of masses for the souls of the testator, Thomas Brewer her husband, pouchemaker, Roger her son, John Nores and Elizabeth his wife, William Farman and Maud his wife and the parents of the testator. And these six men may fill their own vacancies, but shall lose the rent if the premises be not kept in good repair, and likewise the bequest to the Wardens shall be voided, if they keep not the trental and obit. And Elizabeth Bere her daughter is to have an annual rent of 26s. 8d. for term of her life etc. And the residue is to go to Hugh Brewer for term of his life, doing the usual services to the lords of the fee, and paying the annuities etc. with remainder to the heirs of the said Elizabeth.
