The Lord Chancellor acquainted the House, "That a Commission was issued under the Great Seal, for the further proroguing of the Parliament."

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, for the Lords Commissioners to put on their Robes.

The House was resumed.

Then Three of the said Lords Commissioners (in their Robes), being seated on a Form placed between the Throne and the Woolsack; the Lord Chancellor in the Middle; and the Lord President on his Right Hand; and the Duke of Kent on his Left; commanded the Deputy Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to let the Commons know, "The Lords Commissioners desire their immediate Attendance in this House, to hear the Commission read."

Who being come, with their Speaker; the Commission was read, by the Clerk, as follows:

Vicesimo Octavo Die Novembris, Anno Regni Nostri Primo, inchoari & teneri ordinaverimus; quod Parliamentum Nostrum abinde, per separalia Brevia Nostra, prorogatum fuit usque ad et in Vicesimum Tertium Diem Januarii, Anno Primo prædict. et ibidem modo tentum; & abinde, per separalia Adjournamenta & Prorogationes, usque ad et in Diem Jovis, Vicesimum Septimum Diem hujus instantis Julii, adjournatum & prorogatum fuit, apud Civitatem Nostram Westm. præd. ibidem tunc tenendum & prosequendum: Sciatis tamen, quod, certis urgentibus Causis & Considerationibus Nos specialiter moventibus, idem Parliamentum Nostrum ulterius prorogandum duximus. De Fidelitate igitur, Prudentia, & Circumspectionibus vestris plurimum confidentes, de Avisamento & Assensu Concilii Nostri, assignavimus vos Commissionarios Nostros; dantes vobis, & aliquibus Tribus vel pluribus vestrum, Tenore Præsentium, plenam Potestatem & Auctoritatem, a dicto Vicesimo Septimo Die hujus instantis Julii, ad præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, Nomine Nostro, usque ad et in Diem Jovis, Duodecimum Diem Octobris nunc prox. sequen. apud prædictam Civitatem Nostram Westm. ulterius prorogandum & continuandum, ibidem tunc tenendum & prosequendum; & ideo vobis mandamus, quod circa Præmissa diligenter intendatis, ac ea in Forma prædicta effec tualiter expleatis. Which Commission being ended;

The Lord Chancellor said,

Parliament prorogued.

"My Lords, and Gentlemen;

"By virtue of His Majesty's Commission now read, to us and others directed, we do, in His Majesty's Name, and by His Royal Authority, prorogue this Parliament to Thursday the 12th Day of October next, to be then here held: And this Parliament is accordingly prorogued to Thursday the 12th Day of October next."
