Lords take the Oaths.

Thomas Earl of Strafford and James Lord Strange took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Drummond & Ux against Campbell.

A Petition of Mary Campbell, Respondent to the Appeal of James Drummond and his Wife, was presented, and read, praying, "In regard the Matters in Question between the said Parties are in a fair Way of being accommodated, that the Hearing thereof may be adjourned for Two Months."

And thereupon the Agents on both Sides were called in, and heard at the Bar.

And being withdrawn.

Ordered, That the Hearing of the said Cause be put off to this Day Two Months.

Wight & al. against Stewart.

A Petition of Andrew Wight and others, was presented, and read, setting forth, "That their Appeal, to which Rachael Stewart is Respondent, stands to be heard next after the Cause now hearing, and that the Lord Advocate, One of the Petitioners Counsel, is not yet come from Scotland, though soon expected, for which Reason they did not apply to other Counsel in his Stead, he having signed the printed Case," and praying, "That the Hearing of the said Cause may be put off for a Month."

And thereupon the Agents on both Sides were called in, and heard at the Bar.

And being withdrawn.

Ordered, That the Hearing of the said Cause be put off to this Day Monch, as desired.

Chitry against Attorney General.

After hearing Counsel further, in the Cause wherein Joseph Chitty Esquire is Appellant, and His Majesty's Attorney General Respondent.

It is Ordered, That the further Hearing of the said Cause be put off till To-morrow.

Adjourn.

Bp of Exeter takes the Oaths.

George Lord Bishop of Exeter took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Chitty against Attorney General.

After hearing Counsel, as well on Wednesday and Friday last as Yesterday and this Day, upon the Petition and Appeal of Joseph Chitty Esquire, complaining of a Decree of the Court of Exchequer, of the 30th Day of April 1744, in a Cause wherein His Majesty's Attorney General was Plaintiff, and the Appellant Defendant, and praying, "That the said Decree might be reversed, and that the Information exhibited by the said Attorney General, so far as the same requnes the Appellant to accompt for the Duty of Ten Shillings and Two Pence and Seven Fortieth Parts of a Penny, for certain Raisins from Spain, of the Sort commonly called Lexia Raisins, imported by the Appellant, might be dismissed, of that this House would be pleased to make such other Order for the Appellant's Relief as to their Lordships in their great Judgement should seem meet" As also upon the Answer of the said Attorney General put in to the said Appeal, and due Consideration had of what was offered on either Side in this Cause.

Judgement.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, dismisled this House, and that the said Decree therein complained of be, and the same is hereby, affirmed.

Adjourn.

Edward Earl of Oxford and Earl Mortimer, John Lord De Lawarr, and Allen Lord Bathurst, took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Campbell against Campbell.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Magdalen Campbell Widow, Relict and Administratrix of Captain John Campbell of Carrick in North Britain, deceased; complaining of certain Interlocutors of the Lords of Session in Scotland, of the 28th and 29th of July last; and also of Two several Interlocutors, or Sentences, of the 5th and 6th of August last, pronounced in Consequence thereof, by the Commissaries in the Commissary Court in Edinburgh; and praying, "That the same may be reversed and set aside, or that this House will make such other Order, or Decree, for the Appellant's Relief, as to then Lordships shall seem meet; and that Mrs. Jane Campbell and Miss Jane Campbell her Daughter, and Collin Campbell, may be required to put in their Answer to the said Appeal"

It is Ordered, That the Parties last named may have a Copy of the said Appeal, and they are hereby required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on or before Thursday the 24th Day of December next, and that Service of this Order on their respective Agents, Procurators, Solicitors, or Writers, in the said Court of Session and Commissary Court, be deemed good Service.

Countess Anglesey against E. Anglesey.

Ordered, That the Hearing of the Cause wherein the Countess of Anglesey is Appellant, and the Earl of Anglesey Respondent, which stands for Monday next, be put off to the Wednesday following, and the other Causes removed, to come on in Course.

Adjourn.
