with His Regal Crown and Ornaments; the Commons presented Serjeant
Gregory to be their Speaker.
Who was accepted of by His Majesty; and making the usual
Requests on the Behalf of the House of Commons, they were granted by His
Majesty.

These Lords following took the Oaths of Allegiance and
Supremacy, and made and subscribed the Declaration, in Pursuance of the Act
for the more effectual preserving of the King's Person and Government, by

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament
assembled, That the Lords with White Staves do attend His Majesty, humbly to
desire Him, from this House, "That His Majesty will be pleased to give Order,
that all such Papers relating to the Discovery of the late horrid Conspiracy as
have been before the Council Table, either before or since the Dissolution of
the last Parliament, may be communicated to this House."
Appeals and Impeachments of last Parliament.
ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament
assembled, That it be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees for
Privileges, to consider, "Whether Petitions of Appeal, which were presented to
this House in the last Parliament, be still in Force to be proceeded on; as
also to consider of the State of the Impeachments brought up from the House of
Commons last Parliament, and all the Inci dents relating thereunto;" and make
Report thereof unto the House.
Committee to examine the Journal.
ORDERED, That the Lords Sub-committees for Privileges and
Perusal of the Journal Book have hereby Power given them to meet after every
Sessions of Parliament, for examining so much of the Journal Book as shall be
left unexamined at the Time of the Ending of such Session, without any further
Order.
Committee for the Plot, to send for Persons, Papers, &c.
ORDERED, That it be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords
Committees for examining Matters relating to the Discovery of the late horrid
Conspiracy, to send for, and examine, such Persons as they shall think fit, who
have declared, or shall declare and publish, that the Persons, or any of them,
who have been executed as guilty of the said Conspiracy, were innocent, and
have suffered wrongfully; as also to send for such Justices, Constables, and
other Persons as they shall think fit, who were entrusted with the Execution of
His Majesty's late Proclamation for banishing Popish Recusants from the Cities
of London and Westminster, and to
require an Account why the said Proclamations have not been effectually
prosecuted; and make Report thereof unto the House.
Lewis, a Jesuit, in Monmouth Gaol.
This House being moved, "That Lewis,
a Jesuit, now Prisoner in the Gaol at Monmouth, may be
sent for, and brought unto this Bar:"
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in
Parliament assembled, That it be referred to the Lords Committees appointed to
examine Matters relating to the Discovery of the late horrid Conspiracy, to
consider what is fit to be done concerning the said Lewis, and make Report thereof unto this House.
