PRAYERS.

King's Answer, concerning a Lord High Steward;

The Lord Viscount Newport reported, "That he waited on His Majesty, with the Desire of this House, That He would appoint a Lord High Steward, for the Trials of the Earl of Danby, and the Five Lords in The Tower; and His Majesty returns this Answer, That He will appoint a Lord High Steward by Saturday next."

and about the Countess of Portland.

The Lord Privy Seal reported, "That he and Viscount Fauconberg have moved His Majesty, on the Behalf of the Countess of Portland; and His Majesty says, He will give Order for the perfecting of the Pardon to the said Countess, according to the Address of this House."

Bishops voting in Cases of Blood.

The House resumed the Debate, which was Yesterday, "Whether the Lords Spiritual are to vote in Judicature in Cases of Blood, or upon Bills of Attainder."

And, after a long Debate,

The Question was proposed, "Whether this House shall be now adjourned till To-morrow Morning?

Then,

This previous Question was put, "Whether this Question shall be now put?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

The main Question being put, "Whether this House shall be now adjourned till To-morrow Morning?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Doddington versus Williams.

Upon reading the Petition of Hester Dodington, the Widow of John Dodington Esquire, and George Dodington her Son, being an Appeal from a Decree made on the 16th Day of November, 1677, in the Court of Chancery, on the Behalf of Abraham Williams, concerning the Manor of Doddington, in the County of Somerset:

It appearing, that the said Hester Doddington hath given Security in the Court of Chancery, to abide by and perform the Judgement of this House, upon the said Appeal; it is ORDERED, That the said Abraham Williams, who may have a Copy of the said Appeal, be, and is hereby, required to put in his Answer thereunto; in Writing, on Wednesday the 21th Day of this Instant May, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Hester Dodington and George Dodington are to cause timely Notice to be given to the said Abraham Williams, for that Purpose: And it is further ORDERED, That all further Proceedings in the Court of Chancery upon the said Decree shall cease, during the depending of the said Appeal in this House; whereof all Counsellors, Attornies, Solicitors, and other Persons that are or may be concerned therein, are to take Notice, and yield Obedience accordingly.

Adjourn.
