This Day the Lord President supplied the Place of the Lord Chancellor.

John de Faria's Examination to be taken.

ORDERED, That Sir John Hoskyns and Mr. Blathwaite be, and are hereby, appointed to take the Information of John de Faria in French, and present the same to the House.

Protestant Dissenters.

ORDERED, That on Saturday next, the Case of the Protestant Non-conformists shall be taken into Consideration.

Crabb versus Fenton.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day at the Bar, as well upon the Petition of Appeal of William Crabb and Thomas Goldsmith Merchants, of the City of Bristol, from Decrees made in the Court of Chancery, on the Behalf of Elizabeth Fenton Widow, concerning Monies decreed to be paid by the Petitioners to her, upon the account of her late Husband's Interest in the Ship called The Rainbow of Bristol, and other Matters in their said Petition suggested; as also upon the Answer of the said Elizabeth Fenton put in thereunto:

After due Consideration had of what was offered on either Side thereupon, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Decrees from which the Petitioners have appealed, as aforesaid, be, and are hereby, reversed.

Ducket versus Mildmay.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Cause which should have been heard by Counsel on Monday last, between Thomas Ducket Esquire, and Wm. Mildmay and others, be, and is hereby, appointed to be heard at the Bar, on Tuesday the Three and Twentieth Day of this Instant November, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof both Parties are to take Notice, and attend accordingly.

Scudamore versus Morgan.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Cause which should have been heard by Counsel this Day, between John Scudamore Esquire, and John Morgan and others, be, and is hereby, appointed to be heard at the Bar To-morrow, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the Parties concerned are to take Notice hereby, and attend accordingly.

House to fit early, and Lords coming after Prayers to pay.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will meet every Day, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, and rise at Two of the Clock Afternoon; and after the Hearing of One Cause in a Morning, will enter upon Public Business: And it is ORDERED, That every Lord that comes to the House after Prayers, shall pay One Shilling into the Box for the Poor.

Protestant Religion, for securing.

The House was adjourned into a Committee, to consider of Heads for securing the Protestant Religion.

The House was resumed.

And the Lord Privy Seal reported, "That the Committee are of Opinion, That another Head may be, That Care be taken, that all Ecclesiastical and Spiritual Benefices and Promotions, in the Gift of the Crown, may be conferred in such a Manner, that the Incumbent shall always be of the most pious and learned Protestants; and that James Duke of Yorke, nor any Popish Successor, while he continues so, may have any Power to control such Presentments, nor to dispose of any the Premises belonging to, or in the Gift of, the Crown."

Agreed with the Committee.

His Lordship further reported, "That a Member of the Committee offered to them a Bill for securing the Protestant Religion, which the Committee had no Power to receive."

Hereupon the House ORDERED the Committee to sit again, and take such Heads out of the said Bill as they shall think fit.

The House adjourned into a Committee.

The House was resumed.

And the Lord Privy Seal reported, "That the Committee desires the House will appoint another Time for their Sitting, to proceed further in the Consideration of Heads."

And the House appointed To-morrow Morning for that Business.

Adjourn.
