PRAYERS.
Dut. Grafton versus Judges of King's Bench.
It was agreed, that these Words following should be
added to the Question proposed to the Counsel Yesterday, upon which the Counsel were to be heard: ["And
how far such Remedy is like to prove effectual, in respect to the Circumstances of this Case."]
Then the Counsel for the Dutchess of Grafton and
William Bridgeman Esquire, as also for the Judges of
Their Majesties Court of King's Bench, were called in.
And the Lord Keeper, by Directions of the House,
acquainted the Counsel for the Judges, "That they were
to shew what Remedies the Petitioners have in this Case
by the ordinary Methods of Law, and how far such
Remedies are like to prove effectual, in respect to the
Circumstances of this Case; to which the Dutchess's
Counsel may answer."
Upon Report made by the Lord Keeper of what was
offered by Counsel on either Side, and hearing Their
Majesties Attorney General to several Questions proposed, as also the Lord Keeper and Judges then present; and after long Debate of the Matter; the following Order was made:
Judges Counsel, &c. to attend.
"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Counsel who
attended on the Behalf of the Dutchess of Graston
and William Bridgeman Esquire, as also for the Judges
of Their Majesties Court of King's Bench, all the
Judges, and William Petyt Esquire, do attend this
House To-morrow, at Eleven of the Clock in the
Forenoon: And it is further ORDERED, That the
Lords shall be summoned; and no other Business to
intervene.
Adjourn.
