Stevens' Bill:

The Lord Bishop of Peterburgh reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Estate of William Stevens deceased, for Payment of the Mortgage thereupon, and applying the Overplus for the Benefit of his Sons who are Infants," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Estate of William Stevens deceased, for Payment of the Mortgage thereupon, and applying the Overplus for the Benefit of his Sons who are Infants."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass, with the Amendments?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Mr. Holford:

To return the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence to the Amendments.

Salt Water, for making fresh, Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for making Salt Water fresh and useful."

ORDERED, That the said Bill shall be read the Second Time on Monday next; and that then all Persons concerned may be heard, if they please.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Littleton and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for granting to Their Majesties certain Rates and Duties upon Salt, and upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, for securing certain Recompenses and Advantages in the said Act mentioned to such Persons as shall voluntarily advance the Sum of Ten Hundred Thousand Pounds, towards carrying on the War against France;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Salt, Beer, &c. Duties on, to raise £. 1,000,000, Bill.

Then, Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting to Their Majesties certain Rates and Duties upon Salt, and upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, for securing certain Recompenses and Advantages in the said Act mentioned to such Persons as shall voluntarily advance the Sum of Ten Hundred Thousand Pounds, towards carrying on the War against France."

Orphans and other Creditors of London, Bill for Relief of.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Relief of the Orphans and other Creditors of the City of London."

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported, "That the Committee had passed the said Bill, without any Amendment."

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Relief of the Orphans and other Creditors of the City of London."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. that the Lords have passed it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Holford and Mr. Pitt:

To let the Commons know, the Lords have passed the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Iron, &c. for Exportation of Bill;-- Braziers and others heard against it.

After hearing Counsel this Day, upon the Petition of the Braziers and others, against the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the Exportation of Iron, Copper, and Bell-metal;" as also Counsel for the Bill:

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the Exportation of Iron, Copper, and Bell-metal."

ORDERED, That the said Bill shall be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Saturday next, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Tonstall to be attached, for serving Sir E. Battison with a false Copy of an Order.

The House being informed, "That Barnabas Tonstall had committed a high Misdemeanor, by serving Sir Edward Bettison with a false Copy of an Order of this House, dated the Tenth Instant (by making a considerable Addition thereto);" which Matter appearing upon Oath, and the said Barnabas Tonstall being sent for to the Bar:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House do immediately attach the Body of the said Barnabas Tonstall, and keep him in safe Custody until farther Order; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Sir Thomas Duppa, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy and Deputies, and every of them.

Adjourn.
