Messages from H. C. with a Bill; and to return Beverley's.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Thomas Littleton and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Trustees the Estate late of Sir James Beverley, in Huntingtonshire, to be sold;" which they have passed, with some Amendments, to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The Amendments were read Twice, and agreed to; and ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice thereof.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir William Cooper and others:

To acquaint their Lordships, that the Commons have passed a Bill, intituled, "An Act for raising the Militia of this Kingdom for the Year One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-four, although the Month's Pay formerly advanced be not re-paid;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Clippers, for better Discovery of, Bill.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better Discovery of Clippers of the Coin of this Kingdom."

And, after some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Manchester reported, "That the Committee had heard the Goldsmiths, by their Counsel; and have found so many material Objections to the said Bill, that they did not think fit to proceed any further therein without acquainting the House."

Whereupon the Committee following was named.

Paise versus Hindmarsh.

After hearing Counsel upon the Petition and Appeal of Thomas Paise Gentleman, against John Hindmarsh Esquire and Julian his Wife, Isabella Bigg Widow, and William Procter Esquire, Respondents, from a Decree of the Court of Chancery, the One and Thirtieth Day of January, in the Second Year of Their Majesties Reign, and other Orders of that Court; as also upon the Answers of John Hindmarsh, Julian his Wife, Isabella Bigg Widow, and William Procter, put in thereunto:

After due Consideration had of what was offered by Counsel thereupon, it is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Thomas Paise Gentleman shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree and Orders from which he appealed shall be, and they are hereby, affirmed.

Small Tithes, Report of the Conference, about.

ORDERED, That the Report of the Conference had with the House of Commons the Sixteenth Instant shall be made To-morrow, at Eleven of the Clock.

Militia Bill.
