Griffith versus Harries.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Jenkin Griffith Clerk, from a Decree of Dismission made in His Majesty's Court of Exchequer at Westm'r, the Eighth Day of February, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninetythree, in a Cause there depending, between the Petitioner Plaintiff, and Hugh Harries Gentleman, Defendant; and praying, that the said Hugh Harries may answer thereunto:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Hugh Harries may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and he is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Tuesday the Four and Twentieth Day of this Instant December, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Whitaker versus Pawlin.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Edward Whitaker Gentleman, complaining of an Order of the Court of Chancery, made the Seventeenth Day of November, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-four, in a Cause there depending, wherein the Petitioner was Plaintiff, and William Pawlin and William Loggin Defendants; and praying, "That a Report made by a Master of the Court of Chancery, of the Eleventh Day of February, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninetyone, may be confirmed; and that William Pawlin and William Loggin may answer thereunto:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said William Pawlin and William Loggin may have a Copy of the said Petition; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Tuesday the Seventeenth Day of this Instant December, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

State of the Nation:

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, to consider of the State of the Nation.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

Scots Act for an E. India Company, to be considered.

And the Earl of Huntingdon reported, "That it is the Opinion of this Committee, that the Merchants trading to The East and West Indies and Africa, as likewise the Commissioners of the Customs, do attend this House on Thursday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to give an Account wherein the Act of Parliament lately made in Scotland, for a Company trading to Africa and The Indies, may be prejudicial to the Trade of this Kingdom into those Parts."

To which the House agreed; and ordered as follows; (videlicet,)

Merchants, Commissioners of Customs, &c. to attend.

"ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Merchants trading to The East and West Indies and Africa, as likewise the Commissioners of the Customs, do attend this House on Thursday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to give an Account wherein the Act of Parliament lately made in Scotland, for a Company trading to Africa and The Indies, may be prejudicial to the Trade of this Kingdom into those Parts."

State of Trade to be considered;

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That on Thursday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, this House shall be put into a Committee again, to consider farther of the State of the Nation, in relation to Trade; and to hear the Merchants and others ordered then to attend.

and of the Coin.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, this House shall be put into a Committee, to consider farther of the State of the Nation, in relation to the Coin of this Kingdom.

Whereas this Day was appointed for Philip Cecil Esquire to put in his Answer to the Petition of the Lady North:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That he hath hereby Time given him for answering thereunto, until Friday the Thirteenth Day of this Instant December, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
