This Day Thomas Lord Jermyn took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes; and signed the Association.

Wet Dock at Rotherhith, Marquis of Tavistock's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Trustees to raise Money, for the making a Wet Dock, and the improving the Estate of the Marquis and Marchioness of Tavistock, at Rotherhith, in the County of Surrey."

Sir T. Wagstaff's Bill.

The Bishop of Oxford reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Sir Thomas Wagstaff Knight to raise and secure a Portion for Frances his only Daughter and Heir Apparent," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which, being read Twice, were agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed.

Norfolk Highways Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Highways between Wimondham and Attleborough, in the County of Norfolke."

Maydwell Rectory Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for settling divers Lands and Rents-charge on the Rector of the Church of Maydwell, in the County of Northampton, and his Successors; and, in Lieu thereof, for settling other Lands, and discharging Tithes belonging to the said Church, according to several Agreements between the Patron and the said Rector, made upon the enclosing of Lands in Maydwell, and afterwards, with Consent of the Ordinary, confirmed by several Decrees in the Court of Chancery."

Message from H. C. to return Eyn. & al. Nat. Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Hobby and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing of Solomon Eyme and others;" to which they have agreed, with some Amendments, whereunto they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Wines, Tobacco, &c. for continuing Duties on, Bill:

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for continuing several Duties granted by former Acts, upon Wine and Vinegar, and upon Tobacco and East India Goods, and other Merchandize imported, for carrying on the War against France."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Godolphin reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Alteration or Amendment."

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for continuing several Duties granted by former Acts upon Wine and Vinegar, and upon Tobacco and East India Goods, and other Merchandize imported, for carrying on the War against France."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Protest against it:

"Dissent.

"For the Reason following; (videlicet,)

"I dissent to the said Bill, by reason of a Clause therein, concerning the Price of Guineas; which, I conceive, is prejudicial to the Privileges of this House, and the Trade of the Country.

"Abingdon."

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir Robert Legard:
