Canary Company Patent.

The Lord Privy Seal reported, "That the Lords Committees for Privileges, according to the Direction of the House, have perused several Precedents upon the Occasion of the Patent concerning the Canary Company; and their Lordships have commanded him to acquaint this House only with Two Precedents, which they conceive to be most suitable to the Matter referred to them."

The First Precedent was a Petition presented to the King against Papists, the 9th of August, 1625, and the King's Answers to each Particular.

The 6th and 8 Paragraphs were read.

The other Precedent was the 13th of June, 1628, for canceling and vacating the Commission for levying Money by Impositions; which was also read.

Hereupon the House entered into Consideration of the Address, as it is before this House from the House of Commons, touching the Patent of the Canary Company, whether it be suitable to the ancient and Parliamentary Way of Proceedings.

And, after a long and serious Debate thereof, the House agreed to send a Message to the House of Commons; and on Monday Morning next the House is to consider of the Matter of that Message.
