Committee of Privileges.
ORDERED, That the Committee for Privileges do
meet on Saturday next, in the Afternoon, at Three of
the Clock.
House to be called.
ORDERED, That this House shall be called on Monday come Sevennight; and all the Lords are to be summoned, to be then present.
Viscount Halifax introduced.
This Day George Viscount Hallifax was introduced,
between the Earl of Sunderland and Viscount Fauconberg,
all in their Robes, Garter King at Arms carrying his
Patent of Creation and Writ of Summons, and the Lord
Great Chamberlain of England going before him in his
Robes.
His Lordship presented his said Patent and Writ to
the Lord Keeper, upon his Knee; which were delivered
to the Clerk of the Parliaments, who read a little of
the Beginning, and the Date of the Patent, being the
Thirteenth Day of January, 1667, which created him
Viscount Hallifax and Baron of Eland; and then the
Writ of Summons, dated the 23th of January, 1667,
was read. And after this, he was brought and placed at
the lower End of the Viscounts Bench.
Morley and Grenvile versus Elwes.
Whereas, by an Order of this House, dated the
Fourteenth Day of December last, Counsel and Witnesses were appointed to be further heard, at this Bar, on
Monday, the Tenth Day of this instant February, in the
Cause depending between Cutbert Morley and Bernard
Greenvile Esq. Plaintiffs, by Petition, and Jeremy and
Henry Elwes Defendants:
It is ORDERED this Day, by the Lords Spiritual and
Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will
proceed to the further Hearing of the said Cause, as
aforesaid, on Thursday the Thirteenth of February Instant,
at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof both
Parties are to have timely Notice, to the End they may
come prepared accordingly.
