ORDERED, That the Bill concerning the Forest of
Ashdowne shall be read the Second Time To-morrow
Morning.
Report concerning the Importation of Foreign Cattle.
Upon Report from the Lords Committees appointed
to inspect the Act against importing Foreign Cattle,
&c. "That the Lord Delamer hath brought them
several Letters from Sir Thomas Manwaring, concerning the great Abuses committed in those Parts
of Cheshire and Flintshire, by importing Foreign
Cattle contrary to the said Act, and in particular
complaining of Mr. Ogle Hatfeild, as a great Importer of the said Cattle, and of his malicious Prosecution against one James Bruen, a late Constable
of Stapley, in Cheshire, for his endeavouring to put
the Law in Execution, according to his Duty:"
Bruen to be prosecuted for it.
It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual
and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Letters and Papers be sent to Mr. Justice Twisden, the
Judge of Assize, who is desired by the House to examine the whole Business; and to take such Order
therein as he shall think fit; and of his Proceedings
therein to make Report to the House: And the Lord
Delamer is desired to write to Sir Thomas Mainwaring,
"That he attend the Judge of Assize at Shrewsbury,
with such Examinations and Proofs as he hath taken
concerning it."
