PRAYERS.

This Day the Lord Privy Seal sat Speaker, in the Absence of the Lord Keeper, being not well.

A Form being placed between the Chair of State and the Lord Keeper's Woolsack; the Lord Privy Seal, the Lord Great Chamberlain, the Lord Steward, and the Lord Chamberlain of the Household, the Earl of Bridgwater, Earl of Craven, Viscount Fauconberg, the Lord Bishop of London, and the Lord Arlington, Nine of the Commissioners, being set thereon in their Robes, the rest of the Lords being also in their Robes; the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod had Directions from the House, to acquaint the House of Commons, "That His Majesty hath granted a Commission under the Great Seal of England, for the proroguing this Parliament; and the Lords desire the Presence of the House of Commons, to hear the said Commission read."

The House of Commons being come, with their Speaker; the Commission was read, as followeth:

De Fidelitate igitur, PrudentiÀ, & Circumspectione, vestris plurimùm confidentes, de Avisamento & Assensu Consilii Nostri, assignavimus vos Commissionarios Nostros, dantes vobis, & aliquibus Tribus vel pluribus vestrum, Tenore præsentium, plenam Potestatem & Auctoritatem, hoc instante die Lunæ, ad præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, Nomine Nostro, ad & in Decimum Nonum diem Octobris jam proxime futuri, usque Civitatem Nostram Westm. prorogandum & continuandum, ibidem tunc tenendum & prosequendum. Et ideo vobis mandamus, quod circa præmissa diligenter intendatis, ac ea in Formâ prædictâ effectualiter expleatis. Damus autem universis & singulis Archiepiscopis, Ducibus, Marchionibus, Comitibus, Vicecomitibus, Episcopis, Baronibus, Militibus, Civibus, & Burgensibus, ac omnibus aliis quorum interest ad dictum Parliamentum Nostrum conventuris, Tenore præsentium, firmiter in Mandatis, quod vobis in præmissis faciend. agend. & exequend. pareant, obediant, & intendant, prout decet. Then the Lord Privy Seal said,

Parliament prorogued.

"According to the Tenor of this Commission for proroguing this present Parliament, we do prorogue this present Parliament to the Nineteenth Day of October next; and this present Parliament is prorogued to the Nineteenth Day of October next."
