The Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas sat Speaker this Day, in the Absence of the Lord Keeper, who is not well.

Bill concerning Proceedings in Parliament.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, an Act, intituled, "An Act concerning certain Proceedings in Parliament."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, intituled, "An Act concerning certain Proceedings in Parliament, shall be rejected by this House?"

Rejected.

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Bill concerning Privilege and Judicature in Parliament.

ORDERED, That the Committee for Privileges do meet To-morrow Morning, at Nine of the Clock, and consider of, and prepare a Bill, to be offered to this House, concerning Privilege and Judicature in Parliament.

The Duke of Cumberland, the Lord Petre, and the Lord Widdrington, are added to the Committees for Privileges, Trade, and Accompts.

Thomas versus Dagnall et al.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Anthony Thomas, of Chobham, in the County of Surrey, Esquire, complaining against Richard Dagnall, concerning Mills and Lands in Horsey Downe, in Southwark, in the said County of Surrey, and other Matters in the said Petition mentioned:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Anne Dagnall, Widow and Executrix of the said Richard Dagnall, and Richard Stevens and Thomas Owen, Husbands of Francis and Mary, the Daughters of the said Richard Dagnall, shall put in their Answers in Writing to the said Petition, at the Bar of this House, on Monday the 15th Day of November Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon: And hereof they may not fail.

Whereas Anthony Thomas, of Chobham, in the County of Surrey, Esquire, hath a Petition depending in this House, being an Appeal from some Proceedings against him in the Court of Chancery:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Protection of this House be, and is hereby, granted to the said Anthony Thomas, against any Contempt which he may incur relating to the said Proceedings of that Court, during the depending of his said Appeal before this House: And hereof all Officers of the Court of Chancery are to take Notice, as they will answer the Contrary to this House.
