Message to H. C. with Sir C. Clifton's Bill.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir William Child and Sir Thomas Escourt:

To deliver the Bill for the better Payment of Sir Clifford Clifton's Debts, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

ORDERED, That the Petition of poor Prisoners shall be read on Monday next.

Salmon versus Hamburgh Company.

Upon Consideration had of what hath been offered by Counsel at the Bar, upon the Petition of Peter Salmon Doctor in Physic, and other Creditors of the Merchant Adventurers of England, commonly called or known by the Name of Hamborough Merchants; and also on the Behalf of Rowland (fn. 2) Winne, John Doggett, Henry Collier, and John Lethieulier, Members of the said Fellowship or Corporation:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, that the Governor, Deputy Governor, and Assistants, of the said Fellowship or Corporation, be, and they (or so many of them as can do it) are hereby, required speedily to call a Court of the said Corporation, and at that Court to appoint and au thorize some of their Members to attend this House, in the Name, and on the Behalf, of the said Fellowship or Corporation, on Tuesday the Twentieth Day of December Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, and bring the Charter of the said Fellowship with them; and that the serving Mr. Harris, Secretary to the said Fellowship, by leaving a Copy of this Order at his House (who is hereby required forthwith to communicate the same to the said Governor and Assistants), shall be deemed a sufficient Notice to the said Fellowship or Corporation, of this Order.

Ld. Byron Privilege.

Whereas Jeremy Hargraves and Henry Whitacre, being in the Custody of the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, for arresting Abraham Scofield, Servant to the Lord Byron, a Peer of this Realm, in Time of Privilege, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament, were this Day brought to the Bar, and there acknowledged their Offences and Sorrow for the same, and their Submission to the Lord Byron, and also received the Reprehension of this House for their Offences:

Hargrave and Whitacre released.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled (at the Intercession of the Lord Byron on their Behalf), That the said Jeremy Hargraves and Henry Whitacre be, and are hereby, discharged from any further Restraint for their said Offences, paying their Fees; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

E. of Westmerland, Privilege, versus L. Holles, about the Manor of Aldenham.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Cause upon a Breach of Privilege complained of by the Earl of Westmerland, by his being dispossessed of the Manor of Aldenham, and the Lands thereunto belonging, in the County of Hertford, in November last (sitting the Parliament), and the Answer of the Lord Holles put into the said Complaint, which was appointed to be heard on Monday next, shall be heard, at the Bar of this House, by Counsel on both Parts, on Thursday the Fifteenth Day of December Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

E. of Clare versus Vosper and Franklyn, Privilege.

ORDERED, That Samuell Francklyn, Proctor, be summoned to appear, with James Vosper, before the Committee of Privileges, upon the Complaint of the Earl of Clare.
