The Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas sat Speaker this Day, in the Absence of the Lord Keeper.

Bill to prevent Frauds in exporting Wool, &c. rejected.

The House resumed the Debate as was Yesterday, concerning the Bill for preventing Frauds in exporting Wool, Woolfells, Mortlings, Shorlings, Woolflocks, or any Yarn made of Wool; and, after Debate thereof,

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Bill against maiming and wounding.

The Lord Chamberlain reported, "That the Committee of the whole House have considered the Bill to prevent malicious maiming and wounding, and have made some Amendments and Alterations therein, which the Committee offers to the Consideration of this House."

The said Amendments and Alterations were read Twice; and the House, making some Amendments in those Amendments and Alterations, agreed to them.

Then,

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to prevent malicious maiming and wounding."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendments and Alteration now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message from H. C. to remind the Lords of the Bill to prevent Importation of Brandy.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Robert Howard and others:

To put their Lordships in Mind of a Bill depending in this House, prohibiting the Importation of Foreign Brandy; because they have in Consideration a Bill concerning Excise, which they cannot compose until they know their Lordships Pleasure concerning this Bill touching Brandy.

Message from thence, with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Nicholas Carewe and others: who brought up a Bill for exporting of Beer, Ale and Mum; to which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Next, the Amendments made by the House of Commons in the Bill concerning the Lord Norreys's Estate, were read Thrice, and Agreed to.

Message to H. C. with the Bill against maming, &c. and Fitzjamess.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir William Childe and Sir William Glascock:

To return them these Two Bills following, wherein their Lordships have made some Amendments and Alterations; to which their Lordships desire the Concurrence of the House of Commons:

The Bill to prevent maliclous maiming and wounding.

The Bill to enable the Daughters and Coheirs of Sir John Fitzjames to join in a Sale of Lands, for Payment of his Debts.

Green and Cole, in Error.

ORDERED, That on Friday Morning next, this House will resume the Debate of the Errors assigned in the Writ of Error between Greene and Cole.

Colt et al. versus Colt.

This Day being appointed to hear the Cause between Thomas Colt and Henry Hall, Plaintiffs, against John Dutton Colt Defendant, for reversing of a Decree in Chancery, the Counsel for the Plaintiffs were heard; and Tuesday next is appointed for hearing the Counsel of the Defendant.
