Bill concerning Privilege of Parliament.
ORDERED, That on Thursday Morning next this
House will take into Consideration the Bill concerning
Privilege of Parliament.
Subsidy Bill.
Next, the House took into Consideration the Report of
the Conference Yesterday with the House of Commons,
concerning the leaving out of the Clause in a Proviso
concerning the breaking open of the Houses of Peers,
in the Bill of Subsidy.
And, after some Debate thereof,
The Question being put, "Whether to agree with
the House of Commons in leaving out the said
Clause in the Proviso?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Message to H. C. for a Conference on the Pet. against Popery; and that the Lords agree to the Subsidy Bill.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by
Sir William Childe and Sir William Beversham:
To desire a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, about the Petition to be presented to His Majesty
against the Growth of Popery.
Also to let them know, that their Lordships agree
with the House of Commons, for leaving out the Clause
in the Proviso in the Bill of Subsidy concerning breaking
open the Houses of Peers.

That the House of Commons will give their Lordships a Conference, as is desired.
These Lords following were appointed Managers of
this Conference with the House of Commons: Lord
Steward, Marquis of Worcester, Earl of Essex, Earl of
Anglesey, Bishop of Winton, and Lord Ashley.
The Committee concerning poor Prisoners are to meet
this Afternoon.
The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the
Lords went to the Conference; which being ended, the
House was resumed.
Bill to prohibit the Importation of Brandy.
The Earl of Dorsett reported, "That the Committee for the Bill to prohibit Importation of Foreign
Brandy have made some Amendments therein."
Which Amendments being read Twice, and after
some Debate thereof, it is ORDERED, That the said
Bill is re-committed, to be further considered of; and the
Committee to meet on Monday next, at Three of the
Clock in the Afternoon.
L. Holles, Complaint against L. C. Justice of K. B.
Whereas there is a Petition of the Lord Holles depending in this House, against the Lord Chief Justice
of the Court of King's Bench:
It is this Day ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and
Temporal in Parliament assembled, That all such Persons as the Lord Holles shall think fit to summon, for
making out the Matters complained of in the said Petition, are hereby required to attend, at the Bar of this
House, on Monday the Sixth Day of this Instant March,
at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
Manner of managing Conferences.
ORDERED, That it be referred to the Lords Committees for Privileges, to consider what is the ancient
Way of managing Conferences with the House of Commons; and make Report thereof unto the House.
