Game Bill.

ORDERED, That the Bill for the better Preservation of Game be re-committed; and the Committee to meet To-morrow Morning, at Nine of the Clock.

Messages from H. C. with Bills; and to return Sir W. Clark's and the poor Prisoners Bills.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Onslow and others; which consisted of these Particulars:

1. To return the Act concerning the Payment of Sir William Clark's Debts, sent down with Amendments; to which the Commons agree.

2. "An Act for settling and preserving the Navigation of the River Wey, in the County of Surrey;" to which their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

3. A Bill to enable Charles Howard Esquire and Mary his Wife to levy a Fine, and suffer a Recovery, of their Estate in the Manor of Darking; to which their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Sir Charles Harbord and others; who presented these Bills following:

1. "An Act for the better Observation of the Lord's Day;" to which their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

2. The Bill for Relief of poor Prisoners for Debt, wherein the Commons have made some Amendments, and desire their Lordships Concurrence thereunto.

Workhouses, &c. Bill.

This Day the House heard the Counsel of the President and Governors of the Corporations for the Poor in Midd. within the Weekly Bills of Mortality, and Liberty of Westminster, concerning the Bill for the better regulating of Workhouses, for setting the Poor to Work; and also the Counsel on Behalf of the Prosecutors of the said Bill:

It is ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to these Lords (fn. *) following; who are to consider of the said Bill, and what was said by the Counsel at the Bar on both Parts:

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable Charles Howard Esquire and Mary his Wife to levy a Fine, and suffer a Recovery, of their Estate in the Manor of Darking."

Tobacco Bill.

ORDERED, That the Committee for the Bill concerning Tobacco do meet this Afternoon, at Three of the Clock.

The Earl Rivers, Earl of Aylisbury, Vicecomes Mountagu, the Lord Townsend, and the Lord Howard of Castle Rysing, are added to the Committee for Fines and Forfeitures.

Captain Hill, Habeas Corpus.

ORDERED, That the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England do issue out a Writ of Habeas Corpus, awarded to the High Bailiff of the Liberty of Westminster, for the bringing of the Body of Captain Robert Hill, now in his or some of his Under-bailiffs Custody, to the Bar of this House, To-morrow at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

L. Berkeley, Precedency.

This Day being appointed to hear what the Lord Delawarr would offer against the Precedency claimed by the Lord Berkeley of Berkeley, the said Lord Delawarr desiring some longer Time to collect some material Papers concerning that Business:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Counsel of the Lord Delawarr, or any other Lord that shall desire to be heard, against the said Lord Berkeley's Claim, peremptorily, on the Second Monday of the next Meeting of the Parliament after the Recess now at Hand.

And the Lord Awdley being this Day present, and offering himself ready to set forth his Title to the Precedency he now hath, and being shortly to go beyond the Seas, and desiring that nothing might be admitted by this House to his Prejudice in his Absence; this House agreed thereunto.

Adjourn.
