PRAYERS.

Army Pay.

WHEREAS there was Yesterday ordered, that a Thousand Pounds shall be paid, out of Haberdashers Hall, for the Payment of the Lord General's Foot;

It is Ordered, That Five hundred Pounds more shall be paid, out of Haberdashers Hall, for the Payment of the Foot, and such other inferior Officers and Train of Artillery, as my Lord General shall think fit.

Horses, &c. taken for Army.

Ordered, That the humble Petition of John Hyde, Edw. Jenny, and Thomas French, inhabiting at Tottenham High Cross, in the County of Middlesex, be referred to the Committee of the County of Middlesex; to allow and satisfy them their Losses, as they shall see Cause, out of the Fifth, and Twentieth Part, for their Carts and Horse taken, and lost in the Service of Sir Wm. Waller.

It is likewise referred to the said Committee, to consider of the Loss of such Men of Middlesex, as, upon the Lord General's Warrants, sent their Horse to convoy Part of his Foot to Windesore.

The like Order is made, upon the like Occasions, to the Committee of Herts.

Paul's Dean and Chapter.

Ordered, That the Lord Mayor and Court of Aldermen, do, presently, seize upon and sequester into their Hands, the Houses, Rents, and Revenues, belonging and payable to the Dean, Prebends, and Chapter of the Cathedral Church of Paul's; and, out of the said Revenue, pay unto Dr. Burgess an Hundred Pounds Quarterly, according to a former Order of both Houses, the first Payment to begin at our Lady Day next, according to the Date and true Intention of the said Order; and likewise, of all the Evidences, Deeds, and Charters, belonging to the said Dean, Chapter, and Prebends: And that they do inquire after all such Monies as have been brought in, and paid to any Place, and are remaining in the Hands of any Person whatsoever, that was brought in for the Repairing of Paul's.

Countess of Sunderland.

Mr. Browne reports from the Committee appointed to consider of the Petition, styled, The Petition of the Countess Dowager of Sunderland, the Opinion of the same Committee upon the same Petition.

Resolved, That, for so much of the Land mentioned in this Petition, whereof the Earl of Sunderland was only Tenant for Life; and the which was conveyed upon Marriage; the Sequestration shall be taken off.

Resolved, &c. That, as to the Land in Tail, it shall be re-committed; to see whether, by the Declarations and Ordinancss already made, the Estates of Tenants in . . . that die in actual War against the Parliament, be forfeited; and that no Report hereof be made, at any time, not till Ten of Clock.

Ordered, That the Committee for this Petition do meet this Afternoon; and that Report be made of it on Monday Morning next.

Payment to Roe.

Ordered, That the Three hundred and Twelve Pounds Ten Shillings be paid, at the End of Two Months now next coming, to Colonel Roe, out of the Sequestrations at Guildhall, London; and that he forthwith furnish Colonel Foxe with the Carabines and Pistols allotted to him by a former Order of this House.

Affairs in Holland.

Mr. Peters, lately come out of Holland, was called in to the Bar; and acquainted the House with the State of Affairs there, in relation to the Affairs of this Kingdom, concerning the conveying of Arms and Ammunition from those Parts to the King's Quarters; and of the Ships and Prizes taken by Van Trump, and brought into the Brill.

Ordered, That what Evidence either Mr. Peters or any other can give in, touching the conveying of Arms and Ammunition from the Ports of Holland, to the King's Quarters; and touching the particular Affronts done by their Admiral, or any other Person or Minister of State, to our Ships or Prizes; that they do put them in Writing; and make Proof of them, upon Oath, in the High Court of Admiralty: And that they shall, in Writing, present the like to the Committee of both Kingdoms; who are likewise desired to take these Particulars into speedy Consideration.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of both Kingdoms, to consider of sending of Ships to Newcastle; and of the present sending of convenient Ships to lie upon the Coasts of Holland and Zealand, about the Flye and Texel, to prevent the Transportation of Arms and Ammunition, to the Prejudice of the State.

Ordered, That One hundred Pounds shall be forthwith bestowed upon Mr. Peters, in Testimony and Acknowledgment of his good Service done to the Kingdom, in this great Cause of Religion and Liberty, both here and abroad; and that the Committee at Haberdashers Hall do forthwith pay the said One hundred Pounds to Mr. Peters, or such as he shall appoint to receive the same.

The Lords Concurrence to be desired herein.

Ordered, That a Study of Books, to the Value of One hundred Pounds, out of such Books as are sequestered, be forthwith bestowed upon Mr. Peters: And that it be referred to the Committee appointed for sequestered Books, to take Order, that Books to the like Value, be bestowed upon him accordingly.

Carybe, &c. Islands.

Ordered, That Mr. Green do make Report of the Business concerning the Carybe and Summer Islands.

Newcastle, &c. Trade.

Ordered, That the Business concerning the Opening of the Trade to Newcastle, Blyth, and Sunderland, be taken into Consideration To-morrow Morning.

Peters thanked.

Mr. Peters was again called in: And Mr. Speaker told him, the House had taken into Consideration the good Service he had done, in this great Cause, in England, Ireland, and the Low Countries; for which, and other his Services, the House doth give him Thanks; and have likewise thought fit to order him One hundred Pounds, and a Study of Books, to that Value; which they conceive will be more acceptable: That the House requires him to set down in Writing the Particulars of his Information; and to set down the Proofs thereof; and also; what other Proofs any other can testify; and to make the same known to the Court of Admiralty, to be testified in a legal Way; and afterwards to attend the Committees of both Kingdoms.

Webster, &c. Impeached.

Resolved, &c. That Jo. Webster, of Amsterdam, Merchant, shall be forthwith accused of High Treason, for levying War against the King and Parliament.

Resolved, &c. That Sir Wm. Davenant shall be forthwith accused of High Treason, for levying War against the King and Parliament.

Resolved, &c. That Theophilus Baynham, Merchant, shall be forthwith accused of High Treason, for levying War against the King and Parliament.

Resolved, &c. That Wm. Sandys, of Rotterdam, shall be forthwith accused of High Treason, for levying War against the King and Parliament.

Mr. Recorder, Mr. Niclas, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Solicitor, Mr. Serjeant Wilde, Mr. Whitelock, are appointed to receive Informations, from Mr. Peters, or any other; and to prepare Articles of Impeachment against Mr. Webster, Sir Wm. Davenant, Mr. Theophilus Baynham, Mr. Wm. Sandys, according to the Votes of the House; and to bring them in with all Speed: And are to meet this Afternoon, at Two post Meridiem, in the Court of Wards; and de die in diem, at such Time and Place as they shall appoint: And have Power to send for Parties, Witnesses, Papers, Records.

Army Appointments.

Mr. Tate presents a List of the Officers of Foot, from the Committee; and also an Answer of my Lord General, concerning the said List: Both which were read; Whereupon

It was Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth concur with my Lord General, in the approving of Major Skippon, the Lord Roberts, Colonel Hoborne, Colonel Barkley, to be Four of the Colonels of Foot.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth concur with my Lord General, in approving of Captain Lieutenant Symons, to be an Officer of Foot.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth concur with my Lord General, in approving of Lieutenant Colonel Francis, to be a Lieutenant Colonel of Foot.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth concur with my Lord General, in approving of Lieutenant Colonel Hunter, Lieutenant Colonel Ennis, and Lieutenant Colonel Ingoldsby, to be Lieutenant Colonels of Foot.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth concur with my Lord General, in the Approbation of Major Beeton, to be a Major of Foot.

Resolved, &c. That before the House proceed any further upon the Colonels, in the List this Day presented, the Committee shall confer with my Lord General, concerning them.

St. Clement Danes Parsonage.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edw. Leech and Dr. Aylett;

The Lords have commanded us to deliver unto you this Ordinance; in which they desire the Concurrence of this House: It is for settling Mr. Vines in the Parsonage of St. Clement Danes: They desire this House to take it into speedy Consideration, in regard of the Worth of the Gentleman, and of the near Approach of the next Lord's Day.

The Ordinance was read; and nothing done upon it.

Message from Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Serjeant Whitfeild and Dr. Aylett;

The Lords have sent you down an Ordinance, concerning the inventorying of the Goods of the King at Windsore; and desire the Concurrence of this House in it. They have returned the Ordinance, received from this House, concerning the Four associated Counties of Kent, Sussex, Surrey, and Hamshire; and do agree unto it, with the Amendments inclosed.
