PRAYERS.

Mountague versus Doyley & al.

Upon reading the Petition of Henry Mountagr, Balliff of the City of Westminster and the Liberties thereof; shewing, "That he is likely to be sued, for obeying the Privileges of this House; and praying that he, and those who threaten him, may be heard before their Lordships:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Henry Mountagu, and also Sir William D'oyley Junior, Mr. John Steventon, as also Mr. Fitch, being the Persons mentioned in the said Petition, at the Bar of this House, on Wednesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Streater versus Roper & al. in Error.

Upon reading the Petition of John Streater, Plaintiff in a Writ of Error depending in this House; shewing, That, by a Mistake of the Clerk, the Word ["Centum"] is written in the said Writ, instead of ["Ducentarum"], and prays it may be amended:

Leave to amend the Writ.

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Word ["Centum"] in the said Writ be made ["Ducentarum"]; for which this Order shall be a sufficient Warrant.

ORDERED, That this House will fit on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Afternoons, for the Dispatch of Private Business.

Mercer versus Mercer.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Cause upon the Petition of Robert Mercer and the Answer of Alice Mercer and Ellen Mercer, by their Guardian Richard Blackmore, which should have been heard this Day, be, and is hereby, appointed to be heard, by Counsel, at the Bar, on both Parts, on Tuesday the Twenty-fourth Instant, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, the First Business.

Winckle versus Hodgskin.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Cause upon the Petition of Richard Winckle and Charity his Wife, and the Answer of Ralph Hodgkin, which was appointed to be heard on Monday next, be, and is hereby, appointed to be heard by Counsel, at the Bar, on both Parts, on Tuesday the Third Day of March next, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Hallet versus Kendall.

The Earl of Dorset reported, "That the Committee for Petitions have considered of the Petition of Mary Hallet, referred to them; and are of Opinion, That it is fit to be received by this House."

But there being some Difference in the House upon this Report; upon Debate, it is Resolved, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this Petition and Appeal, being an Appeal upon an Appeal depending in this House, shall be laid aside.

Hereupon this Order following was made:

"ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will proceed in the Cause depending between Mary Hallett Widow and her Daughter Johanna Plaintiffs, against Thomas Kendall and his Wife Defendants, by hearing Counsel on both Parts, at the Bar of this House, on Thursday the Twenty-sixth Day of February Instant, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon; whereof the said Petitioners are to cause timely Notice to be given to the said Defendant for that Purpose."

Securing Ireland.

ORDERED, That on Monday Morning next the House be adjourned into a Committee, to proceed further in Consideration of securing the Kingdom of Ireland.

Bill for securing the Protestant Religion.

The House was adjourned into a Committee during Pleasure, to receive a Report from the Sub-committee appointed to prepare a Bill or Bills for securing the Protestant Religion, as it is established in the Church of England.

The House being resumed;

The Earl of Bridgwater reported, "That the Committee of the whole House have received a Bill from their Sub-committee, which is offered to the Consideration of this House."

Which Bill was read, as followeth:

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the better securing the Protestant Religion."

Adjourn.
