Mallory Lane (Fig. 138)
As late as 1729 this lane was called Mallory Bridge (Browne's Hospital leases), identifying it with the Maleroye or Maleroie Bridge of the early 14th century (Cambridge University Library, Add. MS. 3021). The culvert from Scotgate runs along its length.
(258) Doorway, on W. side of lane, two-centred, with chamfered and rebated jambs, formerly taller and wider, but incorrectly rebuilt; probably medieval, provenance unknown.
