Benting to be examined by the Irish Committee.

ORDERED, That Edward Benting be summoned forthwith to attend this House, to be sworn, in order to be examined by the Committee for the Irish Affairs.

Irish Protestant Clergy Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for Relief of the Protestant Irish Clergy."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill be committed to the Committee of the whole House.

And accordingly the House was presently adjourned into a Committee.

The House being resumed;

The Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the Committee of the House have considered the Bill for Relief of the Protestant Irish Clergy; and their Opinion is, that the said Bill is fit to pass as it is, without any Amendment."

And the House agreed with the Committee.

Ingland, for threatening the Constable who stopped his Dray, released.

Whereas Mr. John Ingland, Brewer, was this Day brought to the Bar, by the Gentleman Usher in whose Custody he was, for having threatened the Constables, for stopping Drays and Carts pursuant to the Order of this House; where he asked Pardon of the House for his Offence, and was reprehended for the same:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Ingland be, and is hereby, discharged from his present Restraint, paying his Fees; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Sir Thomas Duppa Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy and Deputies, and every of them.

Adjourn.
