The House was adjourned during Pleasure.

King present.

His Majesty, being adorned with His Regal Robes and Crown, ascended His Royal Throne (the Peers being in their Robes), and gave Command to the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, to signify to the House of Commons, "That it is His Majesty's Pleasure, that they attend Him presently."

Who being come; His Majesty said to this Effect:

Refers the Houses to His last Speech.

"My Lords and Gentlemen,

"I having spoken to you so lately, I think it best to refer you to what I spake in My last Speech, Matters not being altered; and therefore do desire you will take it into your speedy Consideration."

This being ended, His Majesty retired.

The House was resumed.

Bill to prevent Minors clandestine Marriages.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act disabling Minors to marry without the Consent of their Parents and Guardians, and against their untimely marrying after the Decease of their Fathers, and for preventing all clandestine Marriages for the future."

Tunstall versus Smith.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Errors argued, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, upon the Writ of Error depending in this House, wherein Barnabas Tunstall is Plaintiff, and Thomas Smith Defendant, To-morrow at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Mercer versus Mercer.

Upon reading the Petition of Robert Mercer; shewing, That he hath an Appeal depending in this House, wherein Alice and Ellen Mercer were Defendants; which Ellen is dead, and Alice is married to John Wright; and praying, That the said John Wright may be made a Party, and a Day appointed for hearing the said Cause:"

Wright made a Defendant.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Wright be, and is hereby, made a Party to the said Appeal; and that this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Wednesday the Fourth Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Robert Mercer is to cause timely Notice to be given to the said John Wright and his Wife, to the End they attend with their Counsel accordingly.

Coke versus Cobb & al.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Edward Coke Esquire an Infant, by the Lady Anne his Mother and Guardian, against a Decree made in the Court of Chancery on the Third Day of July last past, in a Cause wherein Sir William Cobb Knight, and others, were Defendants, against the said Edward Coke your Petitioner, and William Guavar and others, Defendants; and praying an Order to the said Sir William Cobb and others Defendants, in this House, and William Guavas, to put in their Answer or Answers thereunto:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Sir William Cobb and others Defendants in this House, and William Guavas, may have a Copy or Copies of the said Appeal; and be, and are hereby, required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Wednesday the Sixth Day of November next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Edward Coke and Lady Anne Coke are to cause timely Notice to be given to the said Sir William Cobb and others Defendants, and William Guavas, by the Service of this Order on their Clerks in Chancery, to the End they answer accordingly.

Adjourn.
