PRAYERS.

Committees concerning Irregularities in Westm. Hall.

ORDERED, That the Committee to consider the Irregularities of the Proceedings in the Courts in Westm. Hall, do meet To-morrow in the Afternoon at Four of the Clock.

Serjeant Trenchard, &c. Members of H. C. sworn at the Bar.

This Day Mr. Serjeant Trenchard, Mr. John Hampden, Sir Dudley North, Mr. John Tissard, and Mr. Samuell Johnson, took their Oaths, at this Bar, in order to their giving their Informations at the Committee for Inspections.

The like did Mrs. Jane Mathewes and Mrs. Katherine Armstrong took their Oaths, in order to their being examined by the Committee for Inspections.

Bill to prevent Minors clandestine Marriages.

The Lord Cornwallis reported, "That the Committee for the Bill disabling Minors to marry without the Consent of their Fathers or Guardians, and against their untimely marrying after the Decease of their Fathers, and for preventing all clandestine Marriages for the future, have met, and observed the Directions of this House for keeping in the Word ["annulling,"] and have made some small Amendments therein."

Which, being read twice, were agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with those Amendments.

Succession of the Crown, and Rights of the Subject, Bill.

The House was put into a Committee, according to the Order of the House on Saturday last, to consider the Bill for declaring the Rights and Liberties of the Subjects, and settling the Succession of the Crown.

The House being resumed;

The Earl of Mulgrave reported, "That the Committee of the House proceeded in the Consideration of that Bill; and the Opinion of the Committee is, That the Judges do draw up a Clause to be added to the Bill, "That every King and Queen, at Their Coronation, or at the Opening of Their First Parliament, should take the Test;" and this Clause to be brought in To-morrow Morning; also that the Judges do bring in a Bill to revive the Bill repealed for a Triennial Parliament."

Whereupon the House made the ensuing Order:

Bill to revive the Triennial Act.

"ORDERED, That the Judges do meet, and draw a Clause against To-morrow Morning, to be inserted in the Bill of Rights, "That every King or Queen, when They shall come to the Crown of this Realm, shall take the Test at the Opening of the First Parliament, or at His or Their Coronation, which shall first happen:" And it is further ORDERED, That the Judges do draw a Bill for repealing the Act that repeals the Triennial Act for a Parliament."

ORDERED, That the House shall be put into a Committee again To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to proceed further in the Bill of Rights.

Irregularities in Spiritual Courts.

The House being moved, "That it may be referred to the Committee appointed to inspect the Irregularities in Westminster Hall, do inspect also the Irregularities, and what is sit to be redressed in the Ecclesiastical Courts:"

It is ORDERED, That the Debate of this Business shall be adjourned till To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Quorum of the Committee for Irregularities in Westm. Hall.

The Question being put, "Whether the Quorum of the Committee for Irregularities in Courts in Westminster Hall, shall be reduced from Five to Three?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

King's Answer about Petyt.

The Lord Privy Seal reported, "That he had delivered the Address to the King, concerning Mr. (fn. 1) Petyt: And His Majesty said, He would consider of it."
