PRAYERS.

King's Answer, concerning Signet Books.

The Lord Viscount Newport reported, "That he presented to His Majesty the Address, That the Committee for Inspections may have Leave to peruse the Books of the Signet-office, from 1680 to the Fourth Year of the late King James; and His Majesty has given Order that the Books shall be ready, as is desired."

This Day Robert Yard, Thomas Morris, Peter Augur, Josia Moore, Richard Haley, Robert Bates, and John Phelps, were sworn at the Bar, in order to give their Informations before the Committee for Inspections.

Daye & Ux. versus Thwaites.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of John Deye and Frances his Wife, complaining of a Decree made by the Lords Commissioners of the Great Seal, the Tenth Day of July last past, wherein your Petitioner Deye and his Wife were decreed to pay Five Hundred Pounds, and a Moiety of Four Hundred Pounds, with Interest for the Moiety of the said Four Hundred Pounds from the Death of the Lord Limbrey, and Interest for the said Five Hundred Pounds from Two Years after the Death of Thomas Thwaites, with Costs, as in the Petition, amongst other Things, is set forth, whereunto Martha Thwaites by her Guardian is Defendant; and praying that the said Decree may be set aside:

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Martha Thwaites and her Guardian may have a Copy of the said Petition; and be, and are hereby, required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Thursday the Twelfth Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said John Deye and Frances his Wife are to cause timely Notice to be given to the Defendants, to the End they answer accordingly.

Fountain versus Coke and Guavas.

Upon reading the Petition of Andrew Fountaine Esquire; shewing, "That he hath an Appeal depending in this House, to which Edward Coke Esquire and William Guavus have put in their Answers; and praying the Reviving of the said Appeal, and Stay of Proceedings, and a Day appointed for hearing the Cause:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Edward Coke Esquire and William Guavas may have a Copy of the said Petition; and be, and are hereby, required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Friday the Sixth Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; And it is further ORDERED, That in the mean Time all Proceedings in the Courts below, from which he appealed, be, and are hereby, stayed.

Thirhill, D. of Graston's Servant, arrested.

Upon Oath made at the Bar of this House, "That Thomas Sayer, an Attorney at Law, sued Robert Thirhill, menial Servant to his Grace the Duke of Grafton, a Peer of this Realm, contrary to the Privilege of Peerage and Privilege of Parliament, although he was told he was his Grace's menial Servant:

Sayer to be attached.

It is therefore ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, his Deputy or Deputies, do forthwith attach the Body of the said Thomas Sayer, and bring him in safe Custody to the Bar of this House, to answer for his said Offence; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Sir Tho. Duppa, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy and Deputies, and every of them, and to all Mayors, Sheriffs, Bailiffs, Constables, and other Their Majesties Officers, to be aiding and assisting in the Execution hereof.

The Question being put, "Whether this House shall be adjourned till Monday next, at Ten of the Clock?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
