PRAYERS.

Bill to restore the City of London to its Privileges, and for reversing a Judgement against it.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for reversing of a Judgement in a Quo Warranto against the City of London, and for restoring the City of London to its ancient Rights and Privileges."

ORDERED, That this Bill be read the Second Time To-morrow Morning; and all the Lords be summoned to be then present.

Message from H. C. that they agree to Sir E. Sadler's Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Harcourt and others:

To let their Lordships know, that the Commons have agreed to the Amendments in the Bill for enabling Sir Edwin Sadler to sell Lands, for Payment of his Debts.

Gellybrand to discover the Author, &c. of the Libel called, A Form of Prayer, &c.

The House being informed, "That John Gellybrand, now waiting at Door, can discover the Printer of a scandalous Libel brought unto this House Yesterday:"

He being called in, and shewed the Book, undertook to detect the same.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Gellebrand be, and is hereby, authorized and empowered to discover and find out the Author, Publishers, and Printer of the said Libel, and give this House an Account thereof; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

Woodhouse released.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Woodhouse now in custody, for having arrested Thomas Peacocke Servant to the Lord Howard of Escrick, a Peer of this Realm, humbly submitting himself and his Sorrow for the said Offence against this House and the Lord Howard; he was brought to the Bar, and reprimanded for his Offence, and commanded to beg Pardon of the Lord Howard.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Thomas Woodhouse be, and is hereby, discharged, paying his Fees: And this shall be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.

To Sir Thomas Duppa, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, his Deputy and Deputies, and others whom it may concern.

Wainwright Wise man.

ORDERED, That this House will hear the Cause wherein James Wainwright is Plaintiff, and Anne Wise man Defendant, on Thursday the 15th of this Instant May, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Forrester & al. versus Bernard, Munt's Administrator.

ORDERED, That this House will hear the Cause wherein Anthony Forrester and others are Plaintiffs, and John Bernard Administrator to Humphrey Munt Defendant, on Wednesday the 14th Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Judges to give their Opinions about Priests and Jesuits in Newgate.

Lords Committees appointed to consider the Priests and Jesuits now Prisoners in Newgate, and to have the Opinion of the Judges what is fit to be done with them, and to report their Opinion thereupon to the House.

Judges heard concerning the Bill for the Queen to be Regent.

The Lords having heard the Opinion of all the Judges who this Day were present, upon the Cases stated to them Yesterday; they being of several Opinions, and some alledged, "they had but short Warning to consider of Matters of so great Consequence;" the House agreed of another Question, to which the Opinion of all the Judges should be required; videlicet,

Another Question to them.

"Whether, if the King shall have Occasion to go out of the Kingdom, He can delegate the Exercise of the Regal Power and Government in the Queen, without an Act of Parliament?"

It is ORDERED, That all the Judges do meet this Afternoon; and give their Opinions on this and the former, on Monday next, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Bill for securing Their Majesties against the late K. James.

Then the House was moved, "That the Clause may be considered and read, which was reported by the Committee of the whole House, and agreed on in the said Committee, the 6th Instant, to be Part of the Bill for the better securing of Their now Majesties King William and Queen Mary and the Peace of the Kingdom against the Attempts of the late King James and his Adherents to disturb the same."

It is ORDERED, That the Debate of this Business, and the going into a Committee on the said Bill, be, and is hereby, adjourned unto Monday next.
