PRAYERS.

The Earl of Nottingham acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for further proroguing the Parliament."

Then the Lords Commissioners took their Places on a Form across the House, between the State and the Woolsack; the Earl of Pembrooke in the Middle, and the Earl of Maclesfeld and Earl of Nottingham on his Right Hand, and the Earl of Bath and Lord Viscount Newport on his Left Hand (all in their Robes); who commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to go to the House of Commons, and desire their Attendance to hear the said Commission read.

Who being come, with their Speaker; the Commission was read, as followeth:

Commission for proroguing the Parliament.

"Maria Regina.

"Gulielmus et Maria, Dei Gratia, Angliæ, Sco'æ, Franciæ, et Hibi'niæ Rex et Regina, Fidei Defensores, &c. Charissimis Consanguineis et Consiliariis Nostris Thomæ Marchioni Carmarthen Præsidenti Concilii Nostri, Henrico Duci Norffo'c. Comiti Marescallo Angliæ, Carolo Duci Bolton, Rob'to Comiti Lindsey Magno Camerario Angliæ, Will'o Comiti Devon. Senescallo Hospitii Nostri, Carolo Comiti Dorset et Midds. Camerario Hospitii Nostri, Carolo Comiti Salop. Will'o Comiti Bedford, Thomæ Comiti Pembr. et Mountgomery, Joh'i Comiti Bridgewater, Joh'i Comiti Bathon. Vicesimo Die Martii, Anno Regni Nostri Secundo, inchoari et teneri ordinaverimus; a quo Die idem Parliamentum Nostrum usque ad et in Vicesimum Tertium Diem Maii tunc prox. sequen. continuatum fuerat; et abinde, per separales Prorogationes et Adjournationes, ad et in Tricesimum Diem instantis Junii prorogatum et adjournatum fuerat, apud Civitatem Nostram Westm. prædict. ibidem tunc tenendum et prosequendum: Sciatis tamen, quod, certis urgentibus Causis et Considerationibus Nos specialiter moventibus, idem Parliamentum Nostrum prorogandum duximus. De Fidelitate igitur, Prudentia, et Circumspectionibus vestris plurimum confidentes, de Avisamento et Assensu Concilii Nostri, assignavimus vos Commissionarios Nostros; dantes vobis, et aliquibus Quinque vel pluribus vestrum, Tenore Præsentium, plenam Potestatem et Auctoritatem, hoc instante Die Martis, præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, Nomine Nostro, ad et in Tertium Diem Augusti jam prox. futur. usque prædictam Civitatem Nostram Westm. prorogandum et continuandum, ibidemque tunc tenendum et prosequendum; et ideo vobis mandamus, quod circa Præmissa diligenter intendatis, ac ea in Forma prædicta effectualiter expleatis. Damus autem universis et singulis Archiepiscopis, (fn. *) Ducibus, Marchionibus, Comitibus, Vicecomitibus, Episcopis, Baronibus, Militibus, Civibus, et Burgensibus, ac omnibus aliis quorum interest ad dictum Parliamentum Nostrum conventuris, Tenore Præsentium, firmiter in Mandatis, quod vobis in Præmissis faciendis, agendis, et exequendis, pareant, obediant, et intendant, prout decet. In cujus Rei Testimonium, has Literas Nostras fieri fecimus Patentes.

"Testibus Nobis ipsis, apud Westm. 30° Die Junii, Anno Regni Nostri Tertio.

"Per ipsam Reginam, propria Manu signat.

"Barker."

Then the Earl of Pembrooke said,

Parliament prorogued.

"By Virtue of Their Majesties Commission now read, and to us directed, we do, in Their Majesties Name, prorogue this Parliament to Monday the Third Day of August next: And this Parliament is prorogued to Monday the Third Day of August next."
