PRAYERS.

Archbishops of Cant. and York take the Oaths.

This Day Dr. John Tillotson Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, and Dr. John Sharpe Lord Archbishop of Yorke, took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statute.

Then John Lord Archbishop of Yorke took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statute 25° Car. 2di, for preventing the Dangers which may happen from Popish Recusants.

The Witnesses were sworn, to prove the Truth of his Certificate, that he had received the Sacrament of the LORD's Supper.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure.

The House was resumed.

Then the Lord President acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for the further Prorogation of the Parliament."

Then the Lords Commissioners, being in their Robes, took their Places on a Form cross the House; the Lord President in the Middle, and the Earl of Oxford and the Earl of Pembrooke on his Right Hand, and the Earl of Nottingham on his Left; and commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to go to the House of Commons, and desire their Attendance to hear the said Commission read.

Who being come, with their Speaker; the Commission was read, as followeth:

Commission for proroguing the Parliament.

"Gulielmus & Maria, Dei Gratia, Angl. Sco'æ, Franciæ, & Hibi'niæ Rex & Regina, Fidei Defensores, &c. Charissimis Consanguineis & Consiliariis Nostris Thomæ Marchioni Carmarthen Præsidenti Concilii Nostri, Henrico Duci Norffolc. Comiti Marescallo Angl. Carolo Duci Bolton, Rob'to Comiti Lindsey Magno Camerario Angl. Will'o Comiti Devon. Senescallo Hospitii Nostri, Carolo Comiti Dorset & Midds. Camerario Hospitii Nostri, Alberico Comiti Oxon. Vicesimo Die Martii, Anno Regni Nostri Secundo, inchoari & teneri ordinaverimus; a quo Die idem Parliamentum Nostrum usque ad & in Vicesimum Tertium Diem Maii tunc prox. sequen. continuatum fuerat; & abinde, per separales Prorogationes & Adjournationes, ad & in Quintum Diem instantis Octobris prorogatum & adjournatum fuerat, apud Civitatem Nostram Westm. prædict. ibidem tunc tenendum & prosequendum. Sciatis tamen, quod, certis urgentibus Causis Nos specialiter moventibus, idem Parliamentum Nostrum prorogandum duximus. De Fidelitate igitur, Prudentia, & Circumspectionibus vestris plurimum confidentes, de Avisamento & Assensu Concilii Nostri, assignavimus vos Commissionarios Nostros; dantes vobis, & aliquibus Tribus vel pluribus vestrum, Tenore Præsentium, plenam Potestatem & Auctoritatem, hoc instante Die Lunæ, præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, Nomine Nostro, ad & in Vicesimum Secundum Diem ejusdem Octobris jam prox. futur. usque prædictam Civitatem Nostram Westm. prorogand. & continuand. ibidemque tunc tenend. & prosequend.; & ideo vobis mandamus, quod circa Præmissa diligenter intendatis, ac ea in Forma prædicta effectualiter expleatis. Damus autem universis & singulis Archiepiscopis, Ducibus, Marchionibus, Comitibus, Vicecomitibus, Episcopis, Baronibus, Militibus, Civibus, & Burgensibus, ac omnibus aliis quorum interest ad dictum Parliamentum Nostrum conventur. Tenore Præsentium, firmiter in Mandatis, quod vobis in Præmissis faciendis, agendis, & exequendis, pareant, obediant, & intendant, prout decet. In cujus Rei Testimonium, has Literas Nostras fieri fecimus Patentes.

"Testibus Nobis ipsis, apud Westm. Quinto Die Octobris, Anno Regni Nostri Tertio.

"Per ipsam Reginam, propria Manu signat.

"Barker."

Then the Lord President said,

Parliament prorogued.

"By Virtue of Their Majesties Commission now read, and to us directed, we do, in Their Majesties Name, prorogue this Parliament to Thursday the Two and Twentieth Day of this Instant October: And this Parliament is prorogued accordingly to Thursday the Two and Twentieth Day of this Instant October."
