Boulter versus Prison Bill;

Upon reading the Petition of Edmond Boulter; praying further Time, to be heard to the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual Relief of Creditors in Cases of Escapes, and for preventing Abuses in Prisons and pretended Privileged Places:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Edmond Boulter shall be heard, by his Counsel, as desired, on Tuesday next, at Eleven of the Clock.

Upon reading the Petition of Anthony Smith, of Rotherhith, in the County of Surrey, Mariner; praying to be heard, to the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual Relief of Creditors in Cases of Escapes, and for preventing Abuses in Prisons and pretended Privileged Places:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioner shall be heard, by his Counsel, to the said Bill, on Monday next, at Eleven of the Clock.

Fallowes' Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable William Fallowes, an Infant, to sell an Estate in the County of Chester, to pay Debts secured by Mortgages."

Panton's Bill.

The Earl of Rochester reported from the Committee the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting Part of the Estate of Thomas Panton Esquire in Trustees, to be sold, for Payment of Debts, and securing a Jointure to Mary his now Wife," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which, being read Twice, were agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Vexatious Suits, to prevent, Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled; "An Act for the better preventing frivolous and vexatious Suits."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Saturday next, at Eleven of the Clock; and some of the Judges to attend.

Juries, to enable the Return of, Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable the Returns of Juries as formerly, until the First Day of November, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-seven."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, with One Amendment."

Which, being read Twice, was agreed to.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable the Returns of Juries as formerly, until the First Day of November, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-seven."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendment, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with an Amendment to it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Mr. Meredith:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence to the Amendment.

Leave was given to the Lord Bishop of Coventry and Lichfeild, to go into the Country.

Messages from thence, with a Bill; and to return the D. of Ormond's Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Gwynne and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for enabling James Duke of Ormond to raise Money, by Sale of Woods, and making Leases for Lives renewable for ever, for Payment of Debts, and for encouraging English Plantation in Ireland; and for Charles Lord Weston, Earl of Arran in the Kingdom of Ireland, to make Leases of his Estate in the said Kingdom;" to which they have agreed, with some Amendments.

Which Amendments, being read Three Times, were agreed to; and ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice thereof.

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the easier obtaining Partitions of Lands in Coparcenary, Joint-tenancy, and Tenancy in Common;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
