Ulster Society versus Bp. of Derry:
After hearing Counsel, this Day, upon the Petition
of the Society of the Governor and Assistants, London,
of the New Plantation in Ulster, in the Kingdom of
Ireland, in relation to some Proceedings in the House
of Lords in Ireland, in a Cause wherein the Bishop of
Derry was Appellant, and the Petitioners Respondents,
from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery there;
as also Counsel for the Bishop of Derry:
After due Consideration of what was offered thereupon, the House came to the Resolution following;
(videlicet,)
Appeal to the House of Lords in Ireland coram non Judice.
"Resolved, That the Appeal to the House of Lords
in Ireland, from the Decree of the Court of Chancery there made, in a Cause wherein the Bishop of
Derry was Appellant, and the Society of the Governor and Assistants, London, of the new Plantation in
Ulster, in Irel'd, were Respondents, was coram non
Judice; and that all the Proceedings thereupon are
null and void."
Committee to draw an Order to that Purpose.
Hereupon the Lords following were appointed to
draw up an Order pursuant to the said Resolution;
and report the same to this House:

of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.
Longueville to put in his Answer:
This Day Peter Longueville, now in the Custody of
the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, was brought to
the Bar; where he kneeled until he was bid stand up.
And, the Articles of Impeachment against him being
read, was asked, "What he had to say for himself?"
Whereupon he desired, "A Copy of the Articles,
and a convenient Time allowed to answer thereunto;
and Counsel to assist him."
Then the Order following was made; (videlicet,)
"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Peter Longueville
may have a Copy of the said Articles; and do put
in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Wednesday
the Five and Twentieth Day of this Instant May, at
Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon; and Counsel
allowed him."
Upon reading the Petition of Peter Longueville;
praying, "That he may be admitted to Bail, he being
very sick:"
And offering Persons for his Bail, who were taken to
be sufficient Sureties for his Appearance; he was called
in; and entered into a Recognizance, with Sureties, as
followeth; (videlicet,)
Longueville bailed.
"Petrus Longueville recognovit se debere Domino
Regi Quinque Mille Librar. levari ex Bonis, Catallis,
Terris, & Tenementis suis, ad Usum dicti Domini Regis.
"Thomas Coulson recognovit se debere Domino Regi
Duo Mille & Quingent. Libras, levari ex Bonis, Catallis, Terris, & Tenementis suis, ad Usum dicti Domini
Regis.
"David Prole recognovit se debere Domino Regi Duo
Mille & Quingent. Libras, levari ex Bonis, Catallis,
Terris, & Tenementis suis, ad Usum dicti Domini Regis.
"Upon Condition, That if the said Peter Longueville
shall appear personally before the Lords in Parliament, from Day to Day, until the further Order of
this House, then the said several Recognizances of
the said Peter Longueville, Thomas Coulson, and David
Prole, to be void and of none Effect; or else to remain in full Force and Virtue"
New Forest Enclosures in for Preservation of the Timber, Report to be made.
Whereas this Day was appointed for the Report to
be made from the Lords Committees appointed to consider of the best and most convenient Way for enclosing
The New Forest:
It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Report shall
be made on Wednesday next, at Eleven of the Clock in
the Forenoon; and afterwards the House shall be put
into a Committee again, upon the Bill, intituled, "An
Act for the Increase and Preservation of Timber in
The New Forest, in the County of South'ton."
ORDERED, That the Lords Committees appointed to
consider of the Abuses in The New Forest do meet on
Thursday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

ORDERED, That the Lords Committees for Privileges do meet on Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in
the Forenoon, to consider of the Petition of Robert
Lucy, and the Answer of the Lord Bishop of St. David's put in thereunto.
