The Lord Bishop of London reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Peter Garon and others," with some Amendments.

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendments, shall pass ?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Mr. Meredith:

To return the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence to the Amendments made by their Lordships therein.

Bp. of Winchester's Bill, for Waterworks at Alverstoke:

The Amendments made by the Commons to the Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming a Lease granted by the Lord Bishop of Winchester, of a Parcel of Waste Ground in Alverstock, in the County of South'ton, for the erecting of Water-works there, and for improving the same," were read Twice, and disagreed to.

Commons Amendments disagreed to.

ORDERED, That the Committee to whom the Bill was referred do draw Reasons for the Lords Disagreement to the said Amendments, To-morrow Morning; and report to the House.

Message from H. C. to return the Bill for Relief of Backwell's Creditors.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Harcourt and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Relief of the Creditors of Edward Backwell Esquire, deceased;" and to acquaint their Lordships, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.

Pitt's Bill.

The Lord Lawarr reported from the Committee the Bill, intituled, "An Act to confirm a Conveyance made by George Pitt Esquire and others, of the Manor of Tarrant Preston, and other Lands, in the County of Dorsett, to John Pitt Gentleman, and the Heirs Males of his Body," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Impeachments, Report about Proceedings upon.

The Earl of Stamford reported from the Lords Committees appointed to inspect the Journals, as to the Method of receiving Impeachments, a Report of Precedents made the 28th January, 1666.

Which was read, out of the Journal.

ORDERED, That the Committee do meet again Tomorrow, at Ten o'Clock.

Goudet & al. Counsel assigned:

Upon reading the Petition of John Goudet, David Barrau, Stephen Seignoret, Reney Baudowyn, Nicholas Santiny, and Peter Diharce, Merchants, and John Pearse Gentleman; praying, "That Sir Thomas Powys, Sir Bartholomew Shorc, Mr. Northey, Mr. Dodd, and Mr. Phipps, may be assigned Counsel for them at their Trials:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That Sir Thomas Powys, Sir Bartholomew Shore, Mr. Northey, Mr. Dodd, and Mr. Phipps, shall be, and they are hereby, assigned Counsel for the Petitioners, upon their Trials, at the Bar of this House, upon the Articles of Impeachment against them.

Message from H. C. for a Place for their Trial.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Rowland Gwyn and others:

To acquaint this House, that the Commons desire that a convenient Place may be appointed for the Managers of the Impeachment against John Goudet and others, as is usual.

The Messengers were called in; and told, "That the Lords will consider of their Message, and return an Answer by Messengers of their own."

Foubert versus De Cresserons.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Cause, wherein Magdalen Fowbert is Appellant, and Charles De Cresserons and Margaret Lorin are Respondents, on Friday the Seventeenth Day of this Instant June, at Eleven of the Clock.

Sir C. Bradshaw versus Sutton.

Upon hearing Counsel this Day, upon the Petition and Appeal of Sir Cornwall Bradshaw, from a Decree made in the Court of Exchequer, on or about the Six and Twentieth Day of October One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-six, and several subsequent Orders of the said Court, in a Cause there depending, between William Sutton Gentleman, Complainant, and the Petitioner Defendant; as also upon the Answer of the said William Sutton and Andrew Card Gentleman put in thereunto:

It is ORDERED and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Decree and Orders made in the Court of Exchequer do stand affirmed, with this Alteration: ["That the said Sir Cornwall Bradshaw do procure the said Andrew Card, upon the said Sutton's performing what by the Articles mentioned in the said Decree he is obliged to perform, to execute One or more Lease or Leases, for such Term and Estate as the said Andrew Card, by the said Articles, and the Decree and Orders made in the Court of Chancery (as they now stand affirmed by the Judgement of this House), he is enabled and ought to do, and no otherwise."]
