Lords take the Oaths.

The Lords following took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes:

Robert Earl of Lindsey, Lord Great Chamberlain.

John Lord Bishop of Norwich.

Charles Lord Fitzwalter.

L. Barnard introduced.

This Day Christopher Lord Barnard, being, by Letters Patents, dated Vicesimo Quinto Die Julii, Decimo Gul. Tertii, created Lord Barnard, was, in his Robes, introduced, between the Lord Cholmondley and the Lord Herbert; the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, Garter King at Arms, and the Lord Great Chamberlain, preceding.

His Lordship presented his Patent to the Speaker, on his Knee, at the Woolsack; who delivered it to the Clerk; and being read at the Table, as also his Writ of Summons, bearing Date Vicesimo Decembris, Decimo Gul. Tertii; his Lordship took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes; and was accordingly placed on the Barons Bench.

The Earl of Stamford reported from the Lords Committees, an Address to be presented to His Majesty.

Which, being read, was agreed to, as follows; (videlicet,)

Address.

"We, Your Majesty's most loyal and dutiful Subjects, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, being highly sensible of Your Majesty's great Grace and Goodness towards Your People, expressed upon so many Occasions, and particularly in Your Majesty's most Gracious Speech to both Houses at the Opening of this Parliament, do beg Leave humbly to assure Your Majesty, That as we shall always retain a lively Impression of those great and continued Obligations which Your Majesty hath laid upon this Nation to all Posterity, so it shall be upon every Occasion the perpetual Care and Study of this House, with the most zealous Duty and the most grateful Affections imaginable, to make Your Majesty all suitable Returns within their Power.

"And at this Time particularly we beg Leave further to assure Your Majesty, that we shall not fail to use our most diligent Endeavours, for the attaining of those great and good Ends, which Your Majesty hath been graciously pleased to recommend to Your Parliament."

ORDERED, That the Lord Wharton do attend His Majesty, humbly to know what Time He will please to appoint, for this House to attend Him with their Address.

E. of Darwentwater's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the more easy and certain Payment of the Debts of Edward Earl of Darwentwater, by Sale of Woods and Timber; and for enabling him to raise Money, for Discharge of Incumbrances upon Part of his Estate."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)

The Lord Wharton acquainted the House, "That he had attended His Majesty; and His Majesty hath appointed Tuesday the Third Day of January next, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, for this House to attend Him, with their Address, at Kensington."
